  1. Hi, I have the R.A.T 7 and I can say that I am very happy with it. It is extremely customisable and comes with a box that has spare and slightly different parts of everything that you can customise on the mouse, for example it comes with a smooth rubber palm rest but you can swap it out for a grippier textured one. I have the 6400dpi version and I don't really go over 2500dpi, maybe a little higher for certain games but that's it, so you'll have plenty of room to choose the dpi which suits you best. In the software it has loads and loads of options and profiles to choose from. You can literally remap every button on the mouse. You could even make it that when you click the left button it activates the right button if you wanted, very customisabled. I can't remember but I believe the number of profiles you can create is unlimited and every profile has 3 modes that you switch through with a button on the mouse, so you could have a profile focused around the scroller wheel on the mouse, on the first mode it could be used as a volume wheel (which is what I use it for), then the second mode it could be used to scroll the page up and down, then the third mode it could be used to scroll the page side by side. So really you have 3 profiles in one. You can also change the weight of the mouse, so if you want to move as fast as possible then you can take out all the weights or you can have a heavy but precise mouse, the accessory box which comes with the mouse comes with a little tube to keep your weights in so you don't lose them. It also feels very strong and sturdy and not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. The only real complaints I would have about the mouse it that on the left and right click buttons and on the palm rest the rubber is starting to mark and wear off. If you look at them you can see exactly where you place your fingers and exactly where you rest you palm the most, but this would be expected as it is rubber and you are using it everyday. Don't worry too much about this as you can't really see it unless you are up close to it and you certainly can't feel it, again don't worry too much about this as it takes a while to happen. Also when adjusting the palm rest on the biggest sizes for it it can start to wobble, you don't really notice it when using the mouse as you will have your palm rested on it I would imagine so it wouldn't be able to wobble, I have mine set to around half way through the biggest and smallest size and there is no real wobble, so unless you have very large hands there should be no real problem with this. I have had no experience with the Ouroboros so I can't give my opinion on it but I would defiantly recommend the R.A.T 7 If you want to know anything more just message me and I'll try and help out anyway I can. I hope that this has helped make your decision between these two mice. Good luck! :)
  2. Hi all, So I'm in the market for a mechanical keyboard and have been for a while ever since my crappy HP rubber dome space bar broke and is now currently being held together with Sellotape - anyway I digress. As I was surfing the web looking at keyboards I discovered that the UK layout on keyboards always has a short shift and enter key etc. It then made sense as to why it was so hard to find a keyboard with a long enter on UK websites. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of any keyboards that are sold in the UK with the UK layout on them that has a long enter/shift etc -mthe way the American models do - (it would have to be Cherry MX Blue's). This would be much appreciated as I have been looking forward to getting rid of my old keyboard and getting a new one with a long shift because I am currently always using the alt key to run in games because the shift key on my current keyboard is just to small to reach easily and it is very annoying that I accidentally tab out of my games a lot. So yeah, any suggestions or keyboards that you know of that have this kind of layout please let me know. Thanks in Advance, Paul.
  3. Thanks, I'm just gonna go with the Gaming Edition :)
  4. Hi all, So I'm in the market for a new card and as you can probably tell by the title, I've narrowed it down to two candidates, the MSI GTX 770 Gaming Edition and the MSI GTX 770 Lightning Edition. I know the majority of you will say instantly to go for the Lightning Edition, but if I am correct those cards are more aimed at extreme overclockers? I wouldn't plan to overclock very much at all, probably only a couple hundred MHz and I certainly wouldn't be over volting. I can get the Gaming Edition for around £325 ($494) and the Lightning Edition around £376 ($572). So with these factors in mind, do you think the Gaming Edition would be a better value if I never planned to overclock very much or is the already overclocked performance out of the box (plus a little manual overclocking on the side) worth the extra money? Thanks in Advance, Paul.
  5. National University of Defence Technology in China creates the fastest computer in the world, 2 years ahead of schedule! This beast runs at 33.86 petaflop/sec (33,860 trillion calculations per second), with (in theory) a maximum performance of 54.9 peatflop/sec and has a total of 3.12 million processor cores. This is almost twice as fast as the US made Titan, the second fastest computer in the world. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22936989
  6. So excited for this giveaway! https://twitter.com/PaulC_98/status/341658853907243009
  7. Cadbury Snaps. They were here and gone so fast and they were far too delicious :'(
  8. Thanks guys I checked out the CM Storm keyboards and I'm gonna go with the quickfire TK. Thanks for all your help :)
  9. Hey guys, so I'll keep this short and sweet. Basically I'm in need of a new keyboard and I think a mechanical one with Cherry MX Blues would suit me best (there is no local shops that sell mechanical keyboards so I can't really check which switches I like). I was looking at the das keyboard but the only thing is there is about one website that sells it in the UK that has the UK layout and not the US one. So I was wondering if you guys could recommend any good mechanical keyboards with Cherry MX Blue switches that is under £100/$150 Thanks, Paul
  10. Yeh, here's a website that sells lots of the parts, but it doesn't sell the weights unfortunately. Though I'm sure you could find some weights on ebay! :) US link: http://store.gameshark.com/listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?idCategory=405 UK link: http://store.gameshark.net/Cyborg-Parts/310 Hope you find what you are looking for soon :D
  11. Thanks! :)
  12. Thanks! One more question, if I'm pulling air in to my case through a dust filter, would that require static pressure or does the filter not put up that much of a fight with the fan?
  13. Thanks guys :) Also, are dust filters restrictive to the point where I would need to get a static pressure fan or would I be ok using an airflow fan for dust filters?
  14. Like everyone is saying you don't need one but once you get one and put your operating system and some frequently used programs in there you will love it, guaranteed. It just makes everything a lot more snappier. So your choice but they do defiantly give you a great experience.
  15. Hi, so I'm thinking of buying a new case (the Corsair C70 specifically) and I just want to make sure my fan setup is correct, not really where they blow the air, I want to know if I'm thinking of putting the static pressure and airflow fans in the right place. So below you'll see a very poor attempt of making a diagram of the C70 in paint. The fans I was thinking of using for static pressure were the Corsair SP120 high performance edition, but I was thinking about the Noctua NF-P12 but I don't know if there is really that big of a performance boost for the extra money. Could you guys give me your thoughts on these two and which ones you think I should use. For the regular airflow fans again I'm stuck between Noctua and Corsair (Corsair AF120 Peformance Edition and the Noctua NF-S12A) I'll probably end up going with Corsair for the airflow due to the lower price and I assume that they aren't as important as the Static Pressure fans. Please tell me if I have got the whole thing wrong and I should just be using all static pressure and not airflow, I'm new to this whole build thing :) Thanks, Paul.
  16. Pretty useless considering phones don't get that hot. But props to the manufacturer for trying something new
  17. Hey guys! Thanks for all the feedback. I looked at all the cases yous suggested and I think I'm gonna go with the C70. It has everything I need and looks great to. Thanks for giving me suggestions anyway though :)
  18. Hey, So I was watching Linus' Corsair 900D unboxing the other day and it got me thinking. I seriously need a new case. I've been needing one for a while now, pretty much ever since I upgraded my power supply. My computer was a pre built HP one when I got it and I thought it was the bees knees. Then I learned about computers. But the point is I need a new case. So here's my requirements/wants: Would like it to be under £200/$300 Has to fit a micro-ATX in it, preferably with room to upgrade to a regular ATX Very decent air flow, this is one of the main things for me, currently i have no side panel on my case because airflow is so bad Large enough space for decent cable management, this again is another main point for me USB 2.0 ports, with 3.0 ports for future upgrades Preferably easy/tool-less hard drive installation So that's pretty much what I would like. It would be great if you guys could recommend something for me. Thanks, Paul.
  19. Assassins Creed Brotherhood and Revelations. Way too much like AC2. They changed almost nothing about those games apart from new areas and weapons, it just felt like AC2 with new missions so it got boring and repetitive. Fast. And was it just me that thought it was way too much hassle to maintain your brotherhood which I never even ended up using apart from arrow storm, but things like the little missions you could send them on to kill some guy over on the other side of the country I only used once. In revelations they tried to really emphasise the use of bombs, which again I found myself never using apart from when I had to to get full synch on a mission. It just felt as if they dragged Ezio on for way too long. As for AC3 I haven't tried yet but it looks hopeful.
