  1. I am currently in a class for "computer hardware" and hes asked us about "What is the most important thing to know before upgading your ram". I have asked everything from the type of ram, speed, current ram config to motherboard compatibity. The only thing he has said is "communication" which we asked about the memory controller but still not the answer. Im stuck and so is my class. Edit: He just told us and his answer was "Front Side Bus" but the dumb thing is, it doesnt matter now days since it changes to what speed your memory runs at. And what he was saying 2666 is really fast memory. He can suck a fat one.
  2. Yeah it probably is a good reason not to but it came with the server and if it doesnt work, it doesnt work. but thank you for the info.
  3. So I resently got a new Server (Dell Poweredge R510) and im trying to install the raid card driver after I installed FreeNAS to a USB stick which is Internal on the motherboard. Due to not having the driver, FreeNAS is unable to detect any drives connected to said Raid Card. If anyone knows how to help that would be great. Thanks Server Specs: Dell PowerEdge R510 Intel Xeon E5640 (Just untill I get some new CPU's) 8GB DDR3 ECC (Testing with ram I knew worked) PERC H700 Raid Controller with 1GB cache. Samsung 32Gb 3.1 USB boot drive. 240GB Kingston SSD (Caching maybe???? Or VM Storage Disk) 12, 1TB Seagate Constellation ES Drives. Only 3 Plugged for the moment.
  4. Hello, A couple months back a friends GTX 760 just stopped working as a display output, and not being picked up by windows as one. Ive seen things about the 780 and 780ti having this sort of problem but I wasnt sure if the same problem happened with the lower end cards. I know JayzTwoCents did a video on this subject, and got the card working again. Jayz video:
  5. Yeah it would be and I didn't even know that but i'm glad personally i have stuck with my old trusty Mac keyboard. lol
  6. There is a new article on the the site "thehackernews.com" that people have found MantisTek GK2 Mechanical Gaming Keyboards recording the key strokes of the user (also known as a key-logger) and sending it to a server hosted by the "Alibaba Group" located in China. Full article below. https://thehackernews.com/2017/11/mantistek-keyboard-keylogger.html
  7. SSD's are really worth the money. For me it changed my 30-40 second boot times and slow loading to under 10 second boot times and it does things QUICK. I would say a 240GB SSD would be the best value, at least where i am in the world but yes they are worth the money. Other wise if you are only wanted to store the OS just get a 120GB or a 64 if you can find one.
  8. Hi, A friend has asked me if anyone knows why his second screen on his pc lags at random times when he is using it. I thought it would be something to do with refresh rate but he says it happens at random times while using his PC. If anyone could help me with it, that would be great. If there is anything you need to help with it feel free to flick me a message on here on down below. Thanks Finn
  9. Even my Cable management is better, Even tho I have no cable cut out holes. Sorry dude if I offended you.
