  1. The cooler is not the issue, CPU does not need to run at max freq at all times, it should throttle down to ~1-1.5 GHz while idle.
  2. Hi everybody, I've had the opportunity to pick up an HP G6 tower with insane specs for next to nothing$ so I decided to retire my 6 YO PC and switch to this one. Primary spec is: *i9-10900 *32gb ram *1TB NVMe The thing is - CPU is always running at max frequency at ~4.5GHz, and while the PC is capable of almost anything it's drawback is cooling efficiency as the case itself is not so much gaming oriented, so I'm left with a hot CPU, fan noise and basically a mini oven in my room. Things I've tried are: - checking all running applications and processes: This is not the case as CPU is at max freq at all times, even when computer is under no load at all. - Updating BIOS: Done - Checking BIOS settings: I found only one BIOS setting which I don't remember by name at the moment (I think it is related to Turbo Mode) but when I switched it off the CPU never throttled up above 2.8 GHz which is it's basic no-boost freq. - Change the OS power plan from max performance to balanced to power saving - CPU was not affected, still running at mac freq. I'll try to dig in the BIOS again but it is a very basic BIOS so any input would be appreciated
  3. Which would you recommend from the two? there is a 30$ difference between the two (in favor of the 305). Both have roughly the same sensor (HERO vs HERO 25K), the G703 weighs a bit less. Edit: I'm mainly a fingertip grip gamer.
  4. Dear OP, I would suggest first finding the issue which is causing the communication problems with your current mouse before spending money on a new mouse that connects to your computer in the exact same way..
  5. Taken with a nexus 5 at low light conditions.. surprised at the outcome myself.. Also, I would have gone with another mobo color as well, but he clearly doesn't care, and the case doesn't even have a window, as he opted for the quietest case option.
  6. Screwed in with black screws on the upper part, look closely
  7. Background: I'm an IT manager at a private company which produces audio\video solutions world wide. the company's owners son asked me to build him a PC for private use, which of course will be fully payed by the company. he of course did not neglect to mention there are (almost) no financial boundaries, though he did cheap out a bit on some components for some reason (cpu cooler). Components: Processor: i7 6700K Mobo: Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws V 2x8GB DDR4 3000 CL15 GPU: EVGA GTX980 Ti ACX 2.0 SC 6GB SSD: Samsung 850 EVO Series 500GB HDD: Western Digital Black 4TB PSU: Seasonic Gold X-750 Fully modular CPU cooler: Corsair H60 Case: Fracal Design Define R5 BR player: LG WH16NS40 so, in short, pic time. After working to perfect this masterpiece for over 3 hours, the dude comes in, looks at the art piece I just constructed, says "nice. does it have office installed?". Anyways.. I had fun building the thing.
  8. I highly doubt the CPU block came pre-applied with thermal paste ON THE STICKER..
  9. Thanks buddy, good answer. Actually I have a pair of 950's at my disposal, so that's what triggered the idea, obviously buying 2 low end cards to replace my 660ti isn't a smart move, and I'm more likely to replace it in the near future with a 970\980.
  10. OK guys, thanks for the reminder, guess I needed a refresh about compatibility, also read a bit on the nvidia q&a, all clear now. Another thinker - would 2x evga gtx 950 sc's in SLI beat my 660ti? try to back your answers with some data please if you can..
  11. Hi bros, I'm currently running an MSI gtx 660ti OC PE, I can get my hands on an EVGA GTX 950 Superclocked. Will running them in SLI give me any noticeable difference?
  12. Does SpeedFan do automation? auto fan speeds according to temp readings?
