  1. While not officially announced, according to many reliable sources and "leaks" out there... There will be a Kaby Lake X coming out in 2H 2017, which appears the be the same mainstream 4 core 7700k chip but with the 2066 socket rather than the 1151. And also run on the new enthusiast chipset. Which is interestingly the same socket and chipset as the Skylake-E CPUs. So it appears intel may be trying to move the "k" series overclocker chips up into the enthusiast platform, which will then support both the latest kaby lake architecture and also the 6+ core Skylake-E chips simultaneously. Not sure what this means for the regular 1151 Kaby Lake CPUs.
  2. Well... the actual "k" series chip is scheduled for 2h 2017. Thats quite a long time from now. The main reason someone would want to upgrade to Kaby Lake would be the chipset and motherboard, since the new Z270 chipset will most likely be compatible with future 10nm cannonlake due to it being only a process shrink rather than an architectural change. You could however, wait for AMD Zen and see how it compares with Intel, since that is suppose to launch early next year.
  3. I ended up mixing some mayhem pastel white concentrate into my aquacomputer DP ultra red. Just a few drops, it made is slightly cloudy, and glows in the lighting much better. Also didnt make it pink as i expected, still very red. It also seems to have some kind of effect similar to the aurora coolant, its like a shampoo effect. This is even after ive left the pump running full speed for 2 days, so im guessing its permanent. Pretty nice as its quite subtle but still noticeable, while being a transparent coolant. below is a video of this. The camera sucks at capturing it with all the light, but you can sort of see it. 20161003_220941_002.mp4
  4. The reason for z170 Is that the board usually had more powerful power delivery and can handle the overclock. Otherwise you can overclock with BCLK. As of Skylake, bclk only affects cpu, cache, and dram. So it is not longer an issue in overclocking other components. Just lower the dram setting and cache ratio to keep these within reason. I always OC with BCLK even with k chip and z170 board. Because it keeps your cpu at the overclocked speed. Since cpu defaults to the 40x multiplier. Just turn off c state and turbo boost. Where as a multiplier oc only overclock the turbo ratio. And the cpu will fluctuate between 4 ghz and your oc speed.
  5. Not really sure if this exists as I personally have not seen it. But I am wondering if there is some kind of semi clear color. Like a frosted color. Kind of looks like slush i guess. I was planning to add opaque white to my transparent red coolant, though now that i think about it, it would just make it pink. Maybe opaque red + transparent red mix?
  6. Im not sure if I would say "most", i am sure a good amount of them are. If custom loops were ugly or looked identical to AIOs or maybe even worse, would there still be the same amount of people going custom loop? I highly doubt it. Im willing to bet that the vast majority of custom loop builds are running the same overclocks that everyone else is running. 4.5 - 4.8 GHz on a 6700k for example. In which case a 360mm AIO is more than sufficient. As for GPU clocks we are not limited by temps anymore. Then there is hard line loops... which is pure looks. EDIT: sorry, got off topic
  7. The point in this case would really just be having the SSD for the OS and its main applications. So the 120GB is fine, you can probably fit 1 or 2 of your most played games on it too.
  8. That depends on what you are after. The Hue + is great, it is so customizable via the NZXT Cam software. BUT! it is not very bright in comparison to other strips out there. It has a low LED density. Deepcool sells a remote control RGB kit which is a generic led kit that has been rebranded, identical led kit also available under the brand Satechi on Amazon. They are the brightest i have ever seen. Very high LED density.
  9. Im surprised no one has mentioned the Be Quiet Dark Base Pro 900. Tempered glass Aluminum brushed exterior finish Full ATX/EATX support Dual 420mm Radiator support Designed completely with noise reduction in mind Sound dampening throughout
  10. For many people if not most it does matter a lot. There is something psychological about having a really good looking pc that makes you appreciate your new build you spent all that money on even more. The same reason many people go with custom water cooling loops, most of them dont do it because they need it to keep their CPUs from overheating. That is one of the things that is so great about building PCs, you have control over how it looks. However, I don't speak for everyone, and I assume you don't care about it much.
  11. Ah I see, i missed some key parts of your original post it seems. I highly doubt it would be an issue with the 3.5mm. 3.5mm cables and jacks do not have grounding, and therefore a faulty cable would not affect the grounding of the computer. The fact that you can get clear audio through it when the computer is grounded through the power cord would imply that there is in fact nothing wrong with the cable. Computers are normally always grounded, so the fact that you have a power cord that isnt, and that the buzz is gone when you use a grounded cord, would suggest that the issue is indeed grounding.
  12. With audio as you get into those extreme tiers, the price doesn't equal performance. $250,000 can sound better than $1,000,000. Which is why you want people's experience and impressions, so you have an idea of what would suit your personal tastes. The best way to get an idea of how something sounds, is to get impressions from a large sample size. If one person says something sounds bright, that doesn't mean it is actually bright, but if 500 people say it sounds bright, then it most likely does. Point being there are forums with much more super high end hi-fi enthusiasts. Therefore i highly recommend that the OP ask the question there as well, assuming he is actually looking to spend the ridiculous amounts of money.
  13. Well, he did say this.. " But i can afford to splurge so give the best, most elite, veteran.. " And the title says best in the world
  14. Really dude what? He didn't say anything about budget correct, he says he wants the best in the world. These forums do not specialize in hifi audio, and head-fi as you mentioned is also not specializing in speakers. If you are looking for people's personal experiences with the absolute best speakers in the world, you are not in the best place. I think that much is clear. That is not to say no one here can help him.
  15. Ahhh, that is true. You're right! I'm someone who only uses white, so i guess ive overlooked that fact lol.
