  1. Thanks, I found that too and it didn't help. RPC was running fine in the services.msc
  2. Operating System Windows 10 Computer Specs (PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM, Motherboard) i7-7700 GTX 1080 Asrock B250 Description of problem I'm not sure when this started because most things were fine. However suddenly an app called LOOT (https://loot.github.io/ - to organized mods for games such as Skyrim, Fallout 4,...) cannot update itself. I thought it was the app having problem but then I realised Windows' Mail doesn't sync (last update 16th Jan 2018, maybe that's when it happened). There is no error message, no notification, nothing. Pressing Refresh or Sync just... doesn't work. I then checked the Firewall, it's fine, nothing wrong. But I saw that the Protection Update (threat definitions) doesn't update either. It said: Clicking Check for updates just doesn't work.I googled for hours but nothing really helped. I'm also no longer allowed to access Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc). It said: But I'm the admin and I can run anything with Admin privileges fine. Most of other things still works. Steam, Discord, Games, GeForce Experience Updater, ect. I don't know what's wrong. AntiVir can no longer update software (Java and 7zip only). It can update itself just fine. When this issue began Presumably 16th Jan 2018 Cause/Steps to recreate the issue First time getting this What I've tried so far to resolve the issue Google. Check Firewall Settings. Re-enabled every normal services (ran msconfig with "Normal Startup") Run anti-virus (AntiVir) Run malware (Malwarebytes) Run Windows Defender. Run sfc/ scannow (Result is nothing was wrong)
  3. So I brought it to the PC shop I bought it, after some trials and errors the problem was Gigabyte Extreme was set to max temp at 80 C degrees. I set it to 90 and did some maintain and there it goes. The PSU is perfectly fine...
  4. this PSU was bought just 2 months ago and brand new. Or do you mean the PSU itself is bad? I thought this one has a lot of good review tho
  5. My system: * Win 10 Pro * 32GB of DDR4 Avexir RAM * GTX 1080 G1 Gaming * AsRock B250M Pro4 * Intel Core i7-7700 * Seasonic S12II 620 * Asus MG279Q monitor If I'm playing games (Grim Dawn and DotA 2to be more precise) and listening to youtube videos (music) it has a very high chance of crashing. The crash is as follow: * Everything was working normally (core temps showed everything is ~40-50 Celsius degrees) * Monitor suddenly shutdown like the video signal was cut off (black screen) * Audio still plays normally * All the fans roar like they were pushed to max * The only thing to do then is to hard shutdown or reset (push the buttons) * If left be, after a minute or so the audio got distorted and freeze, going rrrrrrrrr just like a normal crash. * Everything is ok after the hard reset. Like, nothing happened, I couldn't find any log or warning either. The PC just works smoothly. The problem never occurs if I don't listen to youtube nor it happens on any period of time playing game, with music blasting as long as it's from the game. (I tested it with 8 hours of playing heavily modded Skyrim/Fallout 4, the rig works just fine) Thanks.
  6. Hi, I seem to have a problem with my BIOS with admin password. After logging in the admin password the easy tweak (main menu) is working normally. But as soon as I click on the Advanced Tweak tab (or press F6), everything freezes. The only thing to do then is to press the reset/power button. Logging in with the guest/user password is completely fine, but I can't config anything. It was in read-only mode. I've checked, my bios version is up to date, same version with the latest download on the asrock website: P1.40 (14 Nov 2016). When I tried to flash the firmware from internet it said I have the latest one. I also reset cmos by switching the jumpers but it still had the issue, and the passwords are not cleared. (I couldn't find a password reset jumper tho, only a CLRMOS1, I moved the jumper, left it for ~1 minute then moved it back, before that I unplugged everything as guided by google searches) All of that and the problem is still here. As a noob I don't know what to do and what's causing it. Apart from that everything is working fine. Windows still boot quickly, apps and games still run smoothly.... Since I don't even OC I might as well don't even care... but I really need to enable the "allow to use CPU's GPU" (I want the i7-7700 connects to a second, small monitor so I can chat while I game on fullscreen with my VGA) and to turn off the "Wake-up by USB" or whatever that keeps my keyboard and mouse's LED on even after I turn off my PC. Or if there is a way to do these 2 things above without the need of accessing the BIOS, please tell me. I don't wanna fiddle with it if I can avoid it. Please help. Thanks a lot. P/S: my system: ASRock B250M Pro4 Core i7-7700 RAM Avexir 32GB Ram (profile 1 - bus 2400 on the easy mode bios page) GTX 1080 Gigabyte G1 Gaming
  7. Resetting CMOS didn't work. The BIOS is reset but I still can't access the Advanced Mode.
  8. I'm having a strange problem with my new PC (i7-7700 + ASRock B250M Pro4 + GTX 1080 G1 Gaming + Seasonic S12II 620). Today it suddenly refused to shutdown or restart via the window buttons. The monitors went off but the fans and LEDs kept going like normal. I could only restart or shutdown the PC by pressing the case buttons. I updated my driver using Driver Booster 4. And cannot access my BIOS Advanced Mode anymore (it froze when I click on the tab). Other than that everything is working normally... Can anyone help? Thank you very much. My BIOS version is P1.40, 14-Nov-16
  9. This was my dilemma for weeks, if not months. I end up getting a 1440p 144Hz tho but after playing around with it I'd say you should definitely get a 144Hz. 1440p is great but honestly? It's not that great. Let's say it's something you would say "wow", and give 11/10. But 144Hz will make you scream like a kid getting Charizard after years playing with Rattatas. It's day and night. And I was asking this question a lot before, on linustechtips, reddit, tomshardware, youtube... people were saying left and right, some say 1440p, some say 144hz... I couldn't decide and really don't know what to buy. I personally now think it shouldn't be even a question: get 144Hz. Heck, I even wished I didn't buy this 27" and get a 24" with 1080p 144hz instead, so I can buy better stuff for the PC. Oh and if you think "but this card is kinda overkill on 1080p", don't worry. you can use it longer, until games get so demanding that gtx 1070 can't max them on 1080p anymore. It would be years. Edit: I play both competitive games like Dota 2, CSGO, OW and immersive games like Fallout 4, modded Skyrim. And I still think 144Hz >> 1440p in this situation. Get a 24" mate, I'd recommend LG stuff. It's good and not overpriced. I'm using Asus MG279Q btw, very very very good monitor.
  10. There is a discount on the Asus MG279Q where I live. It's a freesync monitor but still, 1440p 144hz, and I can always upgrade to Vega later this year. So how about getting i7-7700 + Asrock B250M Pro4 + Seasonic S12II 620 + ID-Cooling IS 50 instead? No OC anymore tho.
  11. I've thought about this too. And when your plan is to play games on the same rig for 5-7 years it's kinda ok. From my own experience on GTX 660 Ti. It's overkill on Skyrim, then mods happened, and now it can only go medium on Fallout 4.
  12. The only mATX z170 mobo around here is Asus maximus Gene, and it's red. If I get it with the 6700k it'll cost much more than 7700k with z270-D3H haha. (7700k and 6700k prices are $4 different here)
  13. Hi, this is my mostly final build for the coming holidays! After watching tons of video thanks to Linus, Jayz, Canucks, Paul,... I think I'm quite good to go! (pls note that there is no EVGA products in my country) Case: Corsair Air 240 White, everything was built for this case. I just love it the moment I see it. And it has good reviews as well! CPU + GPU: i7-7700k and GTX 1080 G1 Gaming, because thanks to AMD for releasing nothing after CES. I'm a bit sad, but it can't be helped. Mobo: Z270M-D3H because it's the only mATX in my country at the moment, would definitely switch to Asus Z270G Strix tho, but I'm using a D3H Gigabyte mobo for my old/current rig and it's as durable as ever. Although I never OC bfore, but I think it can be fine with my noob-level practices. And although it's mostly black, I guess it won't affect too much to the Blue theme. If anyone had used and OC'd on this, Pls guide me! PSU: Andyson N700 is being reviewed as very very good, from Tom's hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html). I guess 700W is a bit too much for my build, but it's relative cheap (cheaper than Corsair RM Series 650W - 80 Plus Gold, and it's Titanium, so why not?) Fan case: just for the eyes, I found these fans beautiful but literally no review, and I can't even find the brand's mainsite. Sounds like something from China/Taiwan and they never bothered to go global. (http://tandoanh.vn/san-pham/5211/infinity-eclipse-sea-blue---cycle-led-illumination-120mm-silent-fan.html). They can't be that bad... right? Monitor: Ah, the dilemma. But I choose 27" 1080p 144Hz anyway. They're producing them, people is buying them, so how bad could 1080p on 27" really be? I've never seen a 1440p anyway, but years of gaming tells me I want those smoothness. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/fortevn/saved/#view=yMCBD3
  14. Any thought on Gigabyte Z270M-D3H? It's the only Z270 mATX in my country right now and I wanna start learning OC. (i7-7700k)
