  1. do you have separate networks for 5ghz and 2.4 ghz? it almost looks like the first few where on 5ghz and the last few on 2.4 or something, although even those would be fast for 2.4 ghz but maybe possible with quadruple spacial streams. have you used an spectrum analyzer app to check if someone else is shitting over your wifi frequency?
  2. inb4 more internet control law privacy infringement suggestions
  3. that depends on the bitrate and compression algorithm. technically any network can stream 4k, just not at an acceptable quality.
  4. its not really artificial supply and demand n stuff. its just that its not the price the target audience would pay for them.
  5. nobody is saying that. this is like saying that people saying windows 10 is the most secure OS yet are also saying that windows vista is the most secure OS yet, apples and oranges.
  6. according to the benchmarks with my specs yea, but it also heavily depends on the games you play
  7. i mean its not terrible but i find it just bad value. and intel didn't innovate for a long time, so processor upgrades where not really interesting anyways. if you're going to buy something last gen and second hand for a price and performance close to current gen than that isn't worth it imo. but i don't know the exact pricing in their area, if i found a 980 here for 200 i could easily buy a 1060 3gb for 10 bucks more even if i miss out on a 5 fps here and there it wouldn't be a huge difference but i would get the better DX12 support and the longer device support and its new, so now i also have warranty. but by any means, if you only look at dollar per fps than its better value so buy it if thats all they care about.
  8. the architecture is outdated so i wouldn't recommend it unless its like an insane deal which this isn't.
  9. try running a cpu benchmark, its probably just downclocking itself because its not under load.
  10. it would help if we knew what operating system you're using. using windows repair could work, i think that used to be the trick on windows 7.
  11. on this one the smart features are actually decent, it automatically detects which hardware is plugged in and changes the tv remote so it can control everything with the correct buttons. i was quite impressed by that. it also has a chromecast build in. and again, that isn't an answer to my question, i don't care what you think i should do, i didn't create the thread for that.
  12. ye i get that, it wasn't for me to decide. i kinda get the choice, buying something outdated is just bad value and not much of an upgrade, just a replacement.
  13. no, you're not answering my question.
  14. that its not your preference doesn't mean that it isn't other people their preference. these things literally ask during setup to log in into samsung account, facebook or paypall, with a tiiiiny button in a corner that doesn't even look like a button to skip that step. that all is beyond the point anyways, since money login details isn't the only problem as i said.
  15. you can hook a keyboard up to it, and you can mirror it to your phone, and you can mirror it to a normal samsung branded computer. it supports controllers too, these things are really really broad and basically like a smartphone embedded into it. they might not be a big target now, but what about in 3 years? and it doesn't have to be a big target, its an internet of things device. they didn't build in a virus scanner for the fun of it.
  16. i mean they do have them, but they are small cheap crappy and already outdated in terms of HDMI, DRM, resolution, etc.
  17. do you not understand how big of a target a tv is? ransomeware, botnet, spying for the fun of it (these things have build in microphones and cameras nowadays ffs), ripping legitimate content, buying movies on someone else's account, stealing their paypall login, stealing their credit card info. these things are computers but shit.
  18. we all wish that for android too, they already have their money so i don't think they will but you never know. it sucks so bad that its impossible to get a good tv which doesn't have smart functionality in my region.
  19. My dad bought a new tv today, in the shop i adviced to don't buy anything smart because its a liability in the long run and my parents last tv was their replacement to CRT and 10+ years old. its a samsung smart tv, it has a build in virus scanner so it only worry's me more for the long run. how long will they update this?
  20. lmao thats only the case if you buy cheap crap. just don't import it from china or some weird local shop and its fine, don't be afraid to spend 8 bucks on it. yea of course using aluminum wires that are badly insulated instead of proper thick copper wires that have proper insulation will cause damage, but that is an argument you can use for any cable ever.
  21. thats molex, its a legacy power connector. probably to get power to something in the front io such as a fancontroller. if your psu doesn't have cables for it than you can get adapter cables for it.
  22. thats not really a splitter, its just a connector. if you're looking for something that lets everything cross talk then that won't do that, its purely a pass trough so you don't have to plug stuff in the back of a server whenever you have to do maintenance and easy rerouting and better cable management. i think you mean a switch, which is basically what consumer routers have build into them. heres the dutch wikipedia page about switches: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switch_(hardware)
  23. those are bare die cpu's already. atleast it was with ivy bridge.
  24. its not ESD safe, canned air would be better or an ESD safe component cleaning fan. i doubt it will kill your keyboard though. have you read any guides on keyboard cleaning? i recommend this one:
