Hi, so a few weeks ago my 6 month old r9 290 (water-cooled) started to artifact but only if I left the pc on for more than 6 hours. I did a fresh install of windows which temporally fixed the problem As I was pulling apart my Waterloop today to send it back for tea, i think I found the issue, I put thermal paste on the thermal pads for the memory. (the ek waterblock pdf says put thermal compound on thermal pads that are on phase conductors) I guess I was just in a rush and didn't read it properly. My question is that if I just get new thermal pads will it fix the artifacting or is it worth me cleaning the card up and still sending it back for rma? Thanks in advance

Exactly Turns out I didn't fix it, in CGminer is only using 20-30% of the gpu, any suggestions? -

Fixed the issue by reinstalling windows, now hashing at around 800kh/s -

I've been mining dogecoin for the last month or so and have only just researched the average hash rate for my card. I'm only getting around 500-600kh/s where people are getting as high as 900kh/s. I have a custom watercooling loop so thermals are not the issue, although I can't push the mem clock beyond 1300 (stock 1250). I have tried in both cgminer and sgminer on windows. Thanks in advance

In My pc I am currently using a 120gb Sandisk Extreme SSD as my boot drive and 2 x 1tb drives in Raid 0 for storage. I'm also using an old PC as a media server with 2 x 2tb WD red's in raid 1. I bought the SSD when it was A GB a Dollar (AUD) and bought if for the speed. The two Storage HDD's are just for programs and one was the boot before the the ssd, and the 2nd one was from a portable HDD (WD Green) The media server is dads old core 2 duo PC. He upgraded to Ivy Bridge and we had a old pc lying around so I bought some Red's for it, and all my non recoverable data is on it + videos and music to stream
