  1. I have a budget of £350 to spend on a new graphics card. I'm considering either the r9 290 or the GTX 780 but I am steering towards the r9 290 because it has extra memory and performs better in Battlefield 4. Benchmarks also show that Watch_dogs exceeds the 3gb memory buffer on the GTX 780 (ti) so I'm beginning to think that the extra 1gbs of VRAM on the AMD card is going to help the card run the more demanding games coming out in the future. Should I invest more and buy a GTX 780 (ti) or an r9 290x? Is my 1 year old corsair HX650 power-supply sufficient for either of the graphics cards or do I need to invest in a PSU upgrade aswell?
  2. Recently I upgraded my GTX 660 to an r9 290 but the drivers are really unstable. Before installing the new card in my rig, I uninstalled the NVIDIA drivers from my PC. After that, I installed the latest AMD drivers (14.4), After about 30 minutes of playing Skyrim, the display drivers stopped responding and my FPS dropped from 60 to 20-40 because my memory clock dropped from 5000mhz to 150mhz and I don't know why that happend. It seems that everytime the drivers crash whilst the card is under load, the memory clock gets stuck at 150mhz. I have tried all the older drivers upto 13.11 and the problem still persists. This never happend with my old GTX 660 so it is not a problem with any other pieces of my hardware in my rig. Could someone help me resolve this problem? Thanks
  3. corsair rm650 or tx650m
  4. I'd go with the 8350 since it's newer. btw is this processor gonna be for a gaming rig? jw
  5. lol another failed attempt to police the internet... i feel ashamed to live in the uk lmao
  6. original phantom has enough area to support a decent loop and looks badass. i have the 410
  7. most likely since you can use ivy chips on z68 with a bios update; it will probably be the same case for h-e.
  8. i heard the new haswell-e chips' will use the same socket but different chipset (which is called x99 i think)
  9. you planning to overclock beyond 4.2ghz? if not, that 3570 will be perfectly fine
  10. the lightning version uses 2x8pin connectors instead of the reference 8pin+6pin and it overclocks much better. also the cooler looks badass
