  1. Then how do you know it’s a problem? You stopped watching…and when you do it’s in the background…
  2. Not a huge fan of the plastic, but I do love the LEDs. Whatever the benchmarks if I win a 980 I'd be ecstatic!
  3. I was browsing Android Authority's News section and found this, thought it was hilarious and decided to share. If it wasn't tech related or news, I don't think it would have been posted there...
  4. By now I'm sure everyone and their mother knows all they need to know about Apple's #BendGate problem. And Oh Boy, so do their competitors. In this article posted on Android Authority by Bogdan Petrovan posts some of the funniest Apple mocking jokes by HTC, Samsung and LG, on the iPhone's recently discovered "flexibility". The author of the post quoted it best, "Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones". I personally think this is hilarious, even if it is at Apple's expense. What's funnier to me though, with this #bendgate debacle, is that we're seeing either ignorant defenses of this major problem by Apple Fanboys or absolute silence. Link to article: #Bendgate: HTC, Samsung, and LG rub salt into Apple’s wounds There's no picture, but attached is my favourite jab.
  5. My favourite thing is the aluminium finish. The laptop just looks so polished. That and all the signatures at the bottom were kinda awesome too.
  6. Source: http://www.theverge.com/2014/4/29/5661468/apple-blasts-samsung-over-originality-bravery-in-closing-argument Image: http://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/assets/4378275/Screen_Shot_2014-04-29_at_8.36.10_AM.png Apple wraps up its side of the court battle against Samsung, with one last appeal to the jury before they make a decision; by accusing the company one last time of copying five features,"slide-to-unlock, universal search, data synchronization, keyboard autocorrect, and a feature referred to as "quick links," which analyzes text for phone numbers and addresses and gives you contextual options when you tap them" (Josh Lowensohn, The Verge), of which Apple owned patents. Samsung is counter suing Apple for infringing on two of its patents. " 'More than 37 million devices are at issue in this case. And unlike in fairy tales, we know Samsung's illegal strategy has been wildly successful," McElhinny said. "The only products that are selling today are Apple products ... and infringing Samsung products. It is literally a two-horse race (Josh Lowensohn, The Verge). Apple is asking for $2.191 billion dollars damages, while Samsung wants $6.2 million. I really don't know where I sit on this yet. What do you people think?
  7. I guess that makes sense. But at the same time people post silly comments all the time, to troll or as a joke, it's the internet. If you banned everyone for making silly comments you'd end up banning a ton of people. They're like ants. And I can understand how they can be immature, but I feel it's equally as immature to go so far as to ban someone for expressing a non-threatening comment on a public channel. The only thing really being threatened is the ego of uploader. That's what I really have a problem with. Don't ask for my opinion, or expect to have interaction in the comments, if you're just going to ban me because you either don't like it or find it annoying. There was one guy complaining on twitter that he was banned by David because, and I quote, "he was trying to make him look bad".
  8. But do they deserve to banned from the channel altogether by the uploader?
  9. Full time student at U of T, looking to go to Med school. Part-time piano teacher. And looking to start blogging. Soooooo....basically I'm just a freeloader.
  10. I agree. That is the major difference between the two. If you're willing to buy next-gen consoles and their exclusives(for both consoles) at launch(he doesn't even do anything gaming related on his channel), the newest iPhone every year, and keep an "Apple Shrine" of all the apple products you've bought over years, and never use anymore, on shelf for you to look at, I don't feel you should be surprised when people get upset that you ask them to help you buy a $3000 computer. You'd think that if creating content was so important to your lively hood or to your viewers that that would be your first priority.
  11. I can't speak for anyone else, but it bothers me because he's going to get a new 2013 Mac Pro and create more of same kind of videos( "first tastes" of mountain dew, promotion of scams, and ignorant/biased tech videos which he later defends as being "his opinion"). People are going to whine and complain about it, threaten to unsub, until he "does it for them"(as in banning them from his channel). Donating to Linus would have a completely different result. You can actually see the improvements he;s made and continues to make with his content and forum. When I donate my hard earned money, I can guaranteed improvements will be made and that they will be able to continue to do what they're doing. David has shown time and time again, that he only really cares about money and his own ego. I'm not afraid to admit that I could be wrong though, he might actually create better content and improve, but like I said with his history it probably won't happen.
  12. His following. Apparently some of his viewers asked him to do it so they could support. He even got 100$ from Chris Pirillo. That only blows my freaking mind! I don't agree with it at all. This is a man/boy who owns all of the last gen AND next gen consoles, which he purchased AT LAUNCH. It's one thing to ask for support from your following so you can bring more and better content to them, which I don't have a problem with. But I really don't see how they could be so willing to invest their money, so this guy can buy a 3000$ Mac Pro and accessories to edit videos of him tasting Mountain Dew.
