  2. About the Garena Premier League The Garena Premier League is Asia’s first and only multinational professional League of Legends league. League of Legends teams from across South East Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau must prove themselves to be the very best from their region to qualify for each of the 3 GPL seasons to be held in the 2014 season, Winter, Spring and Summer. Country Representation The number of team slots per region is as follows, and will be reviewed at the end of each GPL season. Region Team slots Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau 4 Vietnam 3 Singapore/Malaysia 2 Thailand 2 Philippines 1 Tournament Structure The GPL 2014 consists of a Group Stage followed by a Knockout Stage. The Group Stage will see 12 teams split into 2 groups of 6 teams, Group A and Group B. The teams in each group will play 2 games with every other team in the group. The top 4 teams from each Group will proceed to the Knockout Stage, and will be matched according to their placement in their Groups Knockout Stage Matchups League of Legends Season 4 World Championship Participation in the GPL is the only way for teams in the Garena regions to qualify for the annual League of Legends World Championship. The Champion of the GPL Summer season will qualify for one slot at the World Championship. Teams competing in each season of the GPL earn Circuit Points based on their performance, and the top 4 teams with the most Circuit Points at the end of the year will qualify for the Garena League of Legends Season 4 Qualifiers.
