Alright, took a few days to try and see if it resolved it but sadly to no avail. Whilst no outright BSOD, applications still occasionally just close or crash (AutoCAD, Warframe, World of Tanks). As far as I can tell, yes. At least according to the manual, 2/4 is the recommended combination. Edit: Apparently 2304 Bios plus GDM disable and 3200 OC profile seem to have made it stable. At least for the time being.

Greetings, Have a slight issue and wanted to poke about if perhaps someone else has had similar experiences with system instability. And I think I may have shot myself in the foot a bit there with the selection. MB: ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero (Wi-Fi) CPU: Ryzen 2700x RAM: Trident Z -> f4-3200c14d-32gtzr Whilst the memory is not present in the QVL, as much as I read about that people have managed to somewhat work things out in similar situations, but more often than not with the 16GB variant. Running it at 3200 is definitely not an option, whilst the system does boot, there are points when memory usage starts to become heavier that things like BSOD and application crashes happen within 10 to 15ish minutes. At stock 2133 things get a bit weirder. Whilst not necessarily BSOD, applications still seem to love to die every now and again, not as frequently thankfully. More often than not it manifests in the way of graphics driver crashes. (MSI RX 480 8GB). Honestly just fishing for ideas at this point if there is a way around it other than looking into purchasing different memory.

Ancient Razer Marauder that still works quite damn well despite everything. Roccat Kone XTD that is dying for the same reasons the Roccat Kone did a year ago, stupidly susceptible to wear and tear when it comes to left and right click. Magnificent mousepad found in the SC2 Brood War Collector's Edition for all your desk infestation needs. Koss SB/49 headphones since if you want a headset for cheap, personally the sound seems way better than a lot of 100-150 euro range headsets.(Plus if the cord breaks for some reason, cheap to replace.)

If the drivers do not resolve it, I'd also suggest playing around with the settings. Try disabling some things or switching it to medium and see if it will run then. Immediate assumption is some compatibility issues considering some of the posts regarding GTX970.

If there is interest, I'd also suggest giving AutoIt a try. Rather simplistic and personally have found many uses for various scripts and tools for work and home. Plus comes with an actually decent help. And a lot of examples from community scripts with the help of google searching. https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/ Edit: Does have one major limitation. Whilst it does not require any specific framework to run from one machine or another, it is Windows dependent.

When I was still very young, I had a leftover Robotron (PC 1715). And I totally managed to fry it since the PSU had a voltage switch. And as a kid, naturally I set it to the wrong one before switching it on. In before a spark and some magnificent burning soul scent. And another fun thought. I would have to say GeForce 2MX. Still remember when that came on sale locally and by god I still to this day feel like the luckiest bastard alive for not having bought it. Managed to skate right through on personal legends GeForce256 and followed by GeForce 3Ti.

Yeah, no, that would be nice but that is the equivalent of 3x GTX980s price wise Might actually go for just one 980Ti for now and down the line add another one. Cause yeah, two of those is a hint pricey for a single go considering other parts need to be bought as well.

I7 simply for the matter that where I am, the price difference is only 60Eur, so kind of worth it. I'll take a look at the suggestions. And insane overkill PSU for the reason that it runs fanless on lower usage. And can locally find it for a rather decent price. Plus no load means that I can add whatever else I want for a considerable amount of time without having to replace it. And to be fair, was questioning the dual or single GPU as well. Those were the thoughts that is.

Greetings there, wanted to inquire in regards to some parts of a build I am planning. Main questionable part being the watercooling matter seeing as that is something that I have never bothered to poke around in. But seeing as summer is approaching, I'd prefer to keep the temperatures down before I manage to nearly brick my PC(Current one already showing some occasional anomalies, plus is far too old to meet needs). Plus keep things a bit on the more silent side seeing as it runs pretty much 24/7. As for load, mostly keep it for gaming and considerable (read:stupid) amounts of multitasking. There might be some smaller bits of rendering and compiling here or there but that is not really worth a mention. So yeah, budget fairly decent, no need for peripherals or screens. Pretty much just need to replace the case for now.
