  1. Thanks! Yeah, there are clear acrylic panels that have already been made that go in the top and sides, as well as 3x 140 fan filters that I install after the final photos. The rear mount is for the H100i GTX cooler, earlier in the log are photos of the side panels and the cooler test fitted.
  2. Been cracking on with the cable sleeving, and made a few of my own ways to make it a bit easier. A large heat-sink from an old PC became very helpful in separating and sorting cables. I'd Highly recommend a lighter like the one pictured. These are the cable combs I'm using. And this is the state of the system at the moment, all it needs is the 24pin to be sleeved and couple of minor jobs.
  3. PSU arrived this morning rather than Monday so I got to cable sleeving. After making pin-out diagrams of the cables that I'm using, I found that there are capacitors that were under the stock heat-shrink. I was not expecting that so I have to hide them in the final build. The PSU is held in by friction between the black motherboard mounting bars and the orange frame and double sided tape. 8 hours later I now have one 8 Pin EPS cable sleeved, sleeving is incredibly time consuming.
  4. Cable sleeving kit arrived, although there was an issue with the store I bought the PSU from so that has been delayed until next week. I have also been designing and rendering my next project, A new ITX LAN/ media PC that uses a lot of existing spare components. More images on this case at http://imgur.com/a/3zNqD All that's left to do on the EXO build is cable sleeving.
  5. Migrated case from the 900D into this, new PSU will arrive soon and custom cable sleeving will arrive after. Instagram @WillyDijo for regular updates.
  6. @MEC-777 @Infin8 Correct, the motherboard is rotated and the IO ports are on the inside under the top panel, and the cases window panel is on the opposite side to most cases.
  7. @Infin8 The motherboard is mounted via nylon stand-offs to the vertical black bars, there's a close up of the mounts and the system mocked up earlier in the log.
  8. I'm actually not going to use an IO shield.
  9. @DunePilot The orange paint orange peeled something fierce, but the pre made black did not, I left the orange the way it was because I was ok with it but there are ways of getting rid of it. My process was 140g rough sand for file marks and scribe marks, 400g wet sanded then rinsed and dried, one coat of metal primer, and three coats of black/orange, and no clear coat. But I'm not really the best to ask as this was my first serious spray paint and was going off what I've been told over time.
  10. All the black components looking great. This is the aerosol sprayer I used for the orange because its a custom mixed colour. Colour accented the coolers bar. My ghetto paint booth, will definitely make a sealed spray booth like linus's when I move house, although this didn't turn out as bad as I expected. all the components laid out. Assembled in halves then bridged with the connecting pieces. It got pretty dark by the time I could take a photo, will upload a brighter one tomorrow morning. While I was assembling I couldn't get a Cat Excavator out of my head, The name "EXO" was short for Exoskeleton But it could also now read EXcavatOr All that's left really is cable sleeving and to assemble.
  11. Part way through spray painting, primed and first coated the black pieces today. I haven't got a adequate painting area so I held each part as I sprayed and dried on the clothes line, to my surprise it has turned out well so far. Wet sanded and rinsed off any dust, then hung to dry. It was perfect conditions for painting today. Close up at one corner brace, pictured after first coat, more coats to do. Make shift rack from a couple of clamps, works well.
  12. Aluminium might as well be gold to me, I love the stuff and I cant get enough. This is a disassembled view of all the case excluding acrylic and screws, really not much when torn down.
  13. @DunePilot Thanks for the interest. I myself was never that good with working with any hand tools but if you get a few good tools and take time its pretty easy. As for the renderings I use Blender, it's free and I've learned from trail and error and a few YouTube videos.
  14. A better shot of the top panel.
  15. I live in Australia and I bought mine from ebay, a 440x600x3mm sheet for $21 free postage that I am very happy with http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/acrylicsonlinenprinting?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2754
  16. Been working on the acrylic side panels. This scrap piece of aluminium saved me from my unsteady drilling hands, one hole being 4.2mm and 6mm, clamp it around the hole and the drill wont walk.
  17. Sorry for the time gap between updates, I have been waiting on a shipment of parts has that arrived today. This is the mounting bar for the GPU 12mm Standoffs I needed to make sure everything fitted in the case before I could paint it. The system is definitely smaller in volume than the 900D, but it's not light.
  18. Motherboard rails marked and drilled Don't worry about how they're mounted, the bolts haven't arrived yet Ain't no party like a ThermalTake 140 Riing RBG party, that's what I always say
  19. Work has been done on the top brace, after having one on the front it really looked like it needed another at the back of the top. Out of sight power button, it lights up orange that is if motherboard pins can power it Very much looking forward to the downsize. not sure what I'll do with the case, thinking of a dual system chassis. Or a fish tank.
  20. This Monster just arrived, Had plans of recolouring the silver sections but one of the 1.5mm screws socket thread was stripped which is a let down, will try my best to sand the green logo down to white though.
  21. Thanks, all I'm using for the cuts are hacksaw and a file.
  22. Thanks everyone for the interest and comments Been working on the rear 240 radiator mounts. I really like this CPU cooler but the tubing is very rigid and bit hard to install.
