  1. It's awesome being a part of this community, I remember building my right and posting it on the build planning section and had replies quickfast! I hope more and more people will find your tutorials helpful to them, I mean I still watch the build guides even though I don't plan on upgrading my x79 platform for the foreseeable future. Linus is a cool cat, and his crew of merry men are also epic! They could add a girl to their team, like another host so they don't contradict their gender equality conversation a few WAN shows ago. LEL Too bad the winner of the lappy didn't claim it, such a missed opportunity; the universe must have conspired against him unfortunately. ~_~ Here’s to a million and more! (Drinking a tall ass glass of cold waters). Good luck to everyone!
  2. The thing I like about the notebook is it would be a hella lot lighter than my rig, thus I can easily use it at school. The IPS panel will do wonders for my design subjects.
  3. For me what I liked the most is the focus on the design for the display. The thinness of the bezel looks so sweet! Sometimes the little details make the most impact on the usability.
  4. My favorite would be the design focused on the display, like the thinness of the bezels. For me it's the little details that count.
  5. I have a desk fan right beside me since the heat where I live can be unbearable sometimes. It drowns out the PC's noise quite well.
  6. I'm still waiting for Splinter Cell Blacklist to go 75-80% off. And I just got AC: R when it was 5 bucks. I still like AC right now, and I've tried Splinter Cell Blacklist which is still a good game. It helps that Splinter Cell doesn't use their own engine for it.
  7. Oh man, no more money from me to Ubisoft then. T_T
  8. I really want The Division and AC:U to be good, but if the reviews says otherwise, then no money for Oooobeesoft.
  9. Yeah, but this is the price of progress. Companies develop powerful hardware, software pushes the hardware and the cycle goes on. The more the progress the more complex the games will get. Just wait until Physics actually becomes an integral part of gameplay, now people are gonna be saying: "omg the Physics is so laggy". We'll just wait and see what this carp storm goes to. As for me I'll be getting the PC version. Peace!
  10. "The world's first user upgradeable 4K digital film camera!" -Blackmagic Design http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicursa http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicursa/techspecs Just came across this a few hours ago, the base is way cheaper than the Sony camera the techtips team is currently using. Max fps in 4K video is 60 fps (I guess no extreme slow-mo from this camera which gives the Sony better value once the add on is in.) The price is great! Compared to so many professional cameras on the market Blackmagic has been pushing to deliver great performance and quality to more and more users. This would push 4K to mainstream media. I'm hoping that this would give content creators easier means to create 4K content and drive 4K monitors & TV's down in price for us consumers!
  11. Multimedia Student that needs quite some storage for video clips and rendered files. :3 Took me a few years to get my rig, since I'm gonna need it for my thesis. 180 GB Intel 335 for boot and some games 2 x WD Black 2TB in Raid one for safety. 1 WD My Book Essensials 3TB for Backup hoping to get a 2 Samsung SSDs that are 500+ GB when I can 1 for boot and one for scratch, bump my Intel to my laptop. If I can win one WD Red i'd bump my WD blacks into raid 0 for a scratch disk and the red as primary storage. WD makes awesome drives, too bad my first WD drive died because of a retarded friend though. Good Luck to everyone and Thank You Linus and WD!
  12. Alright thanks guys! If I can find the Platinum 660 then I might go for that, I chose the 760 for the overclocking headroom, I'll be overclocking the CPU when I need to render some heavy scenes and just dial it back down for daily use.
  13. bmwbaxter: So the liked PSU will do me good? Eddyz1122: The GTX 780 isn't listed on the PSU calc.
  14. Would this power supply be enough for this build? And another power supply suggestion would be greatly appreciated. PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151120 Build: CPU: Core i7 3930K CPU COOLER: Corsair H100i MOBO: Asus Sabertooth X79 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB @1600 SSD: Intel 335 180 GB HDD: Seagate 2tb (ST2000DM001) Raid 1 GPU: GTX 780 Thanks for your time!
