  1. I know I'm necro-ing this thread... but I just wanted to let anyone looking at this know. I have a 1070 and I am running driver version 471.41 and this does not seem to work anymore, I tested using the "test with CMD" button right above where you paste in custom commands. I did manage to get it somewhat working by modifying: to just "high444" as it was complaining about high444p being unsupported (at least on my 1070). So for me my custom commands ended up looking like this: -rtbufsize 150M -f dshow -framerate $fps$ -i video="screen-capture-recorder" -c:v libx264 -r $fps$ -preset ultrafast -tune grain -crf 28 -vf "scale='iw*min(1,sqrt(1024*576/iw/ih))':'ih*min(1,sqrt(1024*576/iw/ih))':in_range=full:out_range=full:in_color_matrix=bt709:out_color_matrix=bt709" -sws_flags lanczos -profile:v high444 -pix_fmt yuvj444p -color_range 2 -movflags +faststart -y "$output$" However, once I did that, when I ran the test again it seems to just fall back on to CPU encoding, as now 9% of my 2700x is now being used when I run the test... sigh... Oh well. If anyone else who is more experienced with ffmpeg would like to take a look at what is going on, here is a pastebin link to the output of the "Test with CMD button" I did not test the CPU settings, but I have a feeling they may have the same issues as the nvenc settings. Good luck everyone else! (Also I exported the settings I ended up with once I tinkered with it here just in case someone else would like to trouble shoot) sharex-VideoCaptureSettings-Nvenc.json
  2. Have you tried a different PSU? Or better yet, do you have an old card like a gtx 480 (essentially just something really power hungry) you could throw in your system and try the stress test again? It could be that there is an issue with your PSU, and the problem may only show up after continuous load on whatever rail your GPU is on. That's just a theory though. I'm not familiar with the sensors available on the 5600xt, you may also be able to check to see what voltage the card is receiving. If that voltage is sagging over time, that could cause some instability.
  3. Maybe, there may have been one of a few different things going on. Your MoBo may have a zero RPM mode where it stops the fans when system temps are low. You may have PWM fans that are being controlled with voltage instead of PWM. or your fan curve may have just been set below the minimum duty cycle/voltage of your fans (In the last case, what you did would be correct). Essentially, if they're keeping your components cool, and you're happy with the noise level/profile, you should be fine leaving it how it is right now.
  4. I've heard some reports of the most recent windows update causing big performance issues for gaming. A fix should be rolling out soon, but if it's possible try rolling back the most recent major OS update. That may help the issue.
  5. I second @Radium_Angel, Though to go into a little more detail... I might recommend you download MSI Afterburner or GPUZ. Both have sensor logging where you can see what your temperatures are at over time. You should try and run something intensive like you mentioned in your post, then keep an eye on GPU thermals (for a 5600xt there is core and junction temps). From what you said it does seem like a GPU crash. If the temps seem normal (aka, around 70-80c core, 90-100c Junction) make sure you do not have any sort of overclocks applied. If none of these suggestions help, check your warranty and see if you can RMA your card, as it may be an issue with the actual card.
  6. Thank you for the info, I know unraid isn't known for it's speed, I just don't have enough money to buy all the drives I would need for a traditional array outright and I don't know if I can make the time commitment of learning and transitioning to ZFS. Knowing that it's not that big of a performance improvement though I think I will go for less expensive 5400 rpm drives. Thank you for the help (=
  7. So another question for you, I'm planning on moving to 10GbE soon (server Mobo has a built in controller) so would I possibly get better performance with 7200rpm drives instead of 5400 rpm? I know I am never going to see fully saturated 10GbE even when writing to cache as all my drives (including cache) are currently sata, but since I've been moving a ton of video files around recently raw throughput has been a concern. Would I get a meaningful boost in perf/throughput with 7200rpm or would 5400rpm still be fine? (also, I not only move video files around on this server but I do edit off the server as well)
  8. So this nas has been in use for about a year and some change and could you expand on what you mean by shucking drives? Is that where you buy external enclosures and take the drives out of them? I also don't have any free bays (and my license would not allow for any more drives any way) so my plan is replacing the parity drive with a higher capacity then replacing the 500gb hard drives with 2 additional drives as well (using the former parity drive to replace the third 500gb HDD). The reason I want to upgrade is not just for capacity but also because those 500gb seagates were used when I put them in and are now nearing 25,000 power on hours with warnings starting to pop up. For capacity I would like to shoot for 3 4tb HDDs, maybe more if it's economical
  9. Hey guys, was looking at upgrading my Unraid box with some higher capacity HDDs as well, it's getting a little full: I have a spreadsheet of some HDDs I was considering. However with all the news about how some manufacturers are mislabeling HDDs as CMR when they are really SMR I really wanted to get at least a second set of eyes to look at what I am considering as I don't want to end up with that'll not work as well. These are the drives I am considering (Google sheets) I'm probably not going to go higher than 6-8tb (and yes I know that the parity drive has to be the highest or equally as large capacity drive in the array). Just wanted to make sure none of these drives had any glaring issues and besides GB per dollar which would be the best one to go for.
  10. Unfortunately returning it is not really possible, I bought the fan a few months ago for the guys birthday just now. So I'm kind of stuck with it =/
  11. So Corsair fans have to go through a corsair controller, it's dumb but that's how it seems to be. =/ (At least just for the lighting)
  12. Heyo, I hope someone can help me with this. I recently purchased a fan for a friend, specifically this one. I thought all was good, but recently we've found out we need some sort of controller to control the RGB. Just from my perusing of amazon and their website, it seems there is no easy way to do this. Everything seems to be some $50+ solution that does way more than we need (which is to control the ARGB of one fan). Does anyone know of a good way to do this? I want to make sure my friend is taken care of. Thank you ! (=
  13. Thank you both for the reply! You'll have to forgive me for the delayed reply as life got a little busy. I'll try both and let you know how it goes (= Oh and @mariushm I looked at the files that you sent with your script and from what I can tell you already have it set up to where all I would have to do is run the folders and then download scripts. Is that right or should I go ahead and run the extract script with the input.html?
  14. So this might be an odd question. But I was wondering if anyone would know of anyway to download all the server.jar files listed here (just the stable releases category) into folders for each version? I have a bit of anxiety over things disappearing/being lost and wanted to make sure I could start a collection of all the older server versions of Minecraft so that I could be sure I can start one up if need be. Obviously it wouldn't be too hard to maintain however the initial downloading seems like it would benefit from some sort of way to download them all whether it's via a bash script or some other method. I had initially though of using wget with wild card to nab all the versions and just delete the ones I don't want but I found out none of the jar files are named uniquely (all are server.jar). So any tips?
