JHurley747's Achievements

  1. One reason I think Linus (LMG team included) has not sold out is because of the products/services he chooses to endorse. Favorable examples include Intel SSDs, Corsair products, and Squarespace. By my logic and the logic of many others these products/services stand out in their respective markets. Yes, Linus has a created a profitable business through reviews (not to say this is bad), but he has also created and fostered a community that is passionate about getting consumers the best bang for their buck and passionate about "bleeding" edge technology. @LinusTech don't sell out and for the love of the computer gods pls bring back a few of your insightful motherboard reviews
  2. Full sized keyboards are great! All the keys are easily visible and accessible. However, my favorite keyboard size is the 40% ortholinear keyboard. With custom firmware and clever tricks you can make typing a whole new experience. Keys spread out over the keyboard become accessible with less movement, or depending on how clever your macros are, with one hand! When you master the smaller layout your keyboard input becomes so much faster, more useful, and you look like a bad-ass hacker. If you are interested check out this website, and I highly recommend you watch the short video on the page just to give you an idea of the possibilities of custom firmware.
  3. Did you wait on the storage purchase? I'm super excited for these PCI SSDs... hopefully they have got a cheaper option (which should still crush sata3). Any thoughts on adding some white accents to the Titan X? and please tell me your gonna take the stickers of the RAM, lol?

    HDMI to DVI

Make sure you bought a quality cable. Right now I am using DVI to HDMI and it is working great. But check the type of DVI on your monitor and make sure your cable face will work
  5. Thanks for the confirmation.. Agreed might pick one up now because of the newer looks
  6. I was browsing some Gigabyte cards the other day and noticed subtly different WindForce coolers on r9 280x and r9 270x. In my opinion, the r9 280x one is uglier.. any idea why this is? I'm pretty sure the r9 270x shroud is metal while the higher tier card has a plastic shroud. Here's the r9 280x http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4793#ov Here's the r9 270x http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4795#ov
  7. Alright thanks guys when I get it done ill report back
  8. Right now I have an MSI Z77A-GD65 and I am just using the onboard sound... I am not an audiophile and right now I have a mediocre speaker set up. I am really just wondering if it would be worth it to throw in an old Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS (for the heck of it at the very least maybe)?
