  1. Since your CPU supports it, why don't you use DDR4 memory? It may cost a bit more, but for the efficiency, higher clock speeds, and future proofing I'd say it's worth it.
  2. Hey guys, Building a new gaming computer soon and saw this Newegg Shell Shocker come up: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2776726 It's an i5-4690k, Asus Z87-A NFC Express mobo, and G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB memory for $300. These exact parts cost about $355 normally, and they're essentially the same as my planned parts list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LGPXCJ Note: The CPU on my parts list is $150 because one of my friends has one that he'd sell me. Seeing as I was planning to get the Z97-A, what's the real difference between the Z87 board and Z97 board? I know it's something to do with the chipset, but I'm not exactly sure. Thanks! P.S. If you've got any tips for my part list, any help is much appreciated.
  3. This should just be what you need. Both cards have their pros and cons along with each card's ecosystem and the fanboys and haters which come with them. However, if you're willing to wait a few months, the new chip generations are coming out. Along with that, card prices should drop (or not).
  4. What about nVidia's GeForce experience stuff? AFAIK there aren't too many free video recording software that work as well as nVidia's, and I might get a Shield later. 8GB of VRAM, is that really needed? GTX Titans when gaming only use like 6 at most, and I'm not a super-high-ultra kind of guy. Thanks for all the responses!
  5. Hello fellow Linus (or Taran, or Dennis, or... you know what I mean) fans! I'm building a gaming PC soon (current parts list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/kspvHx) and I'm still troubled over which brand of 970 to use. As you can see, I've chosen a Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce 3x because... well, it was essentially talked about the most! However, I've found somebody selling an EVGA GTX 970 Hybrid (watercooled!) for the same price, and I was wondering which one would be better. EVGA sounds cooler (lol) because I could get a higher overclock... but... I'm not super sure. Any help is much appreciated. THANKS!
  6. I'm sure that satirical JayzTwoCents would love seeing this... except for the fact that it worked at the end. "I HATE GTX TITANS!" -Jay
  7. "Daily driver" discussion, GO! Razer Blade or XPS 13? One's by Razer, but heck, one's WATERPROOF! Ergo, the XPS 13 must be Linus-proof. But I guess he almost dropped the Razer in that watercooling to cool a room video LTT released yesterday...
  8. GabeN the savior! Our father, who AWPs in Heaven, CS be thy game Uncase begun, them skins be won, Covert - and not a mil-spec give us this day a StatTrak Knife and forgive us when we rage quit, as we forgive those who aimbot against us, and lead us not into scamnation but undeliverus a battlescarred GabeN.
  9. Oh my god SO TRUE! Everybody I know knows that I dislike iCrap products, and everytime: Hey -----, nice Apple Watch. It's gotten to the point where I just frown and walk past. Heck, I have a RED Pebble Time and some idiots still actually think it's an Apple Watch.
  10. Murphy's Law, because I'm a hardcore pessimist when it comes to ordering parts. I know that most sellers take good care of shipping, but whenever I read a messed up review... *crosses fingers*
  11. I'd love the keyboard, I'm building a new gaming PC soon and am looking to get some nice peripherals. Praise #RNGsus Thanks!
