  1. Any alternatives I should be looking at or that'd be the best bet?
  2. So suggestions on a laser for a Ruger Scout (223)? It's got a forward picatiny rail on it that I'll be putting a Vortex Sparc II on. I can also put an adapter on the forward swivel stud to give me a picatiny rail there so suggestions on a decent laser to put on? Currently considering a TLR4 from Streamlight but I'm open to suggestions. Also condisering the Protac HL-X too
  3. http://getintopc.com/softwares/operating-systems/windows-7-8-1-10-aio-70in1-iso-free-download/ That one? Chances are there are about 30 different trojans and viruses contained within it. I just need the standard ISO's from Windows - little river used to be great until it disaapeared and I can't download them from VLSC as they're VL images.
  4. The issue is I need the files for the OS. Yeah been having a look through them - a lot are moddified Most of the links don't work
  5. Hi Guys, Anyone know where I can get up to date Win7, Win8 and Win10 ISO's? All of my current ISO's are requiring numerous updates to them. I've tried using the Windows Media Creation Toolkit however it's pretty useless in that it gives you slightly different image. My aim is to compile AIO installers for 7,8 and 10.
  6. Apple, you are a bunch of Arrogant bastards telling people how they should do things instead of the consumer deciding what is better for them. Learn to write English. FFS. This should be writtens as: Apple, you are a bunch of arrogant bastards, telling people how they should do things intead of them themselves deciding what is better for them. Learn to correctly write in English for fuck sake. 7. Case and point why I said he could probably get away with a USG and UniFi AP but not to touch the EdgeRouters. Why would he need to restart the other branded routers? Depends on the area - some countries require you to use a cable modem supplied by the ISP. Not familar with the US' cable modem procedure.
  8. The issue with that statement is that the majority of Linus' viewers are young and almost take his word as gospel. What you end up with then is a whole pile of people who are terribly misinformed as to how things are done. Quite a few people are certainly mature enough and understand that it's more for comedic value than anything else but then again, there are those who do not.
  9. Why would he? It's a valid issue - we've seen this beforehand too - Fiio E10 video, next thing you know everyone is recommending them. The issue is that with enterprise grade equipment, it's not simply plug, play and you're good. There is complex setup to be done beforehand. For example the reasoning behind his speed issues with the Powerbeam equipment - that will be due to a poor radio configuration over short range. The issue that then stems from this and is evident from the number of threads that are appearing is that people don't know what they're getting into. I've seen the number of 'help me with pfsense' and 'my unifi ap doesn't work' threads increasing dramatically. Case and point is one I saw earlier - they've purchased point to point Ubiquiti gear and have no idea on how to configure it. I've seen a number of subsequent issues as well with people purchasing EdgeRouters because they saw the Ubiquiti logo and next thing you know, it doesn't work. Enterprise equipment is called enterprise for a reason - it is not designed for consumers. Don't get me started on the server situation...
  10. WHY WHY WHY???? Have either of you ever used any of the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter equipment? Sure he could probably get away with a USG + UAP but unless he has a fair bit of networking experience, stay away from the EdgeRouters, they're not easy equipment to use and when you break it, you may not know how to fix it. Even then with the USG, you'll get next to nothing out of it without knowing the UniFi command line interface. What internet connection do you have? Fiber to an NTU (FTTP?), VDSL or cable? If it's either of the later two, be aware that you will need to use an ISP provided modem or specific VDSL modem. For fibre to an NTU, you can use RJ45 from the NTU. The Asus RT series routers are good options if you're looking something that is AC compatible. The Netgear units (Nighthawk etc) generally have better parental controls if that's an issue. Did you need any specific router features like a VPN host or dynamic DNS support through DYNDNS or similar?
  11. The issue is that the way this video is being presented is that these are designed as long distance WiFi - they're not. They're designed as a P2P link that happens to be compatible with 802.11AC. They're designed like this so that they're compatible with smaller 5Ghz receivers to work in a WISP environment.
  12. These are a 5Ghz bridge - not a WiFi installation. They just happen to use the 802.11AC standard for their frequency.
