  1. Hey guys. I'm having an interesting problem with my desktop PC. My PC is quite old but its purpose is for storage, browsing, typing documents and printing. Specs are (pls no flame): CPU: Q8300 MB: MSI P45-7519 Neo GPU: NVidia GTS250 2GB RAM, 500 HDD It was running Win XP for a few years (was away from home) and recently I cleaned the PC of dust and that old OS. Freshly installed Windows 7 32 bit Service pack 1 and everything runs just fine except for, strange but interesting, keyboard. Not every keyboard works on my PC. I have 3 keyboards Redragon Usas, Cooler Master Devastator II and Genius K215. Redragon works perfectly but other two keyboard are not. Sometimes they work like there is a major input lag like 10 seconds after pressing a key, like the key is stuck after pressing it and it's not and other times it just doesn't respond. Windows is fully updated till today, all drivers are installed, chipset, GPU, audio etc. I've tried every USB port (front and back) Redragon works flawlessly while other are not. The USB slots are not shorted out, check for that. In BIOS settings USB legacy support is enabled. Every other USB device works fine in every port (mouse, flash drivers, USB mobile cables,... ). Uninstalled USB drivers after plugging in the keyboards that don't work, tried again, tried updating, Windows says it's up to date. I'll mention once more, I did took apart the whole PC, took out the components, cleaned them of dust, changed termal paste on CPU and GPU, wired everything up and a day or two later, when I had some time formatted and freshly installed Windows 7 SP1. I'm not an experienced builder but everything is connected just fine (even front I/O works xD), fired up some benchmarks and the PC was running like a beast, I mean old beast. What am I missing guys? Has anyone else encountered this problem?
  2. My rig is really old. I have Q8300 with GTS250 and 4GB of RAM. I waited so long for the upgrade because I'm a student, so I don't have much of an income. Part time jobs are really low paid and I waited so long for RX480, THE BUDGET king. My only chance for an upgrade. So winning a new Polaris card would be awesome and it would help me a lot in my PC upgrade.
  3. Thanks guys. You have been really helpful. Mods, you can delete this thread.
  4. Hey guys. I have a question about proxy settings. Can you set automatic proxy settings based on a current network you are connected to? For example, using my laptop at work requires me to set proxy settings; when I'm at my Faculty I need to use different proxy settings and when I come back home I need to disable proxy settings since I don't use proxy at home. I mean, that feature has been available for a long time on Android and Windows phones. You could set different settings like passkeys/phrases or proxies for EACH NETWORK while it's not possible to do that on a laptop running Windows. I mean, on one of my phones, which is running Windows 10 Mobile, you can do that but on one laptop running Windows 8.1 and second one running Windows 10 that's not possible. At least that I know of. Do you guys know how can this be set?
  5. I'm currently using old keyboard I had from an old PC. It's a PS2 keyboard.
  6. Hey, everyone. I have a 5 year old Acer Aspire 5750G laptop running on Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit with following specs: I3-2330M @ 2.2GHz nVidia GeForce GT520M 4 GB DDR3 Silicon Power S55 240GB SSD Western Digital 500GB HDD I want to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro 64bit, but the drivers for my laptop don't exist on the manufacturer's website (since this laptop is very old). What are my options, should I upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and just go with it without chipset and other drivers, letting my PC run off the built-in drivers or is there another option? I'm using this laptop every day, mainly for heavy number crunching in Excel, AutoCAD, PPT, Word, Visual Studio 2015 (master degree student for traffic engineering) and it's my only PC (poor student in Europe).
  7. I would like to win the keyboard. I'm an engineering student and with lots of extracurricular activities so I am writing a lot of papers for my Faculty but also papers for symposiums, conferences etc. because I want to become a science worker and maybe someday work and teach at the Faculty. Writing papers would be a lot easier by typing them on an excellent keyboard and not on my 5 year old laptop keyboard. Hope luck looks my way!
