  1. Assuming your wireless LAN is wlan0 you can add this to your /etc/network/interfaces file. It's probably not a good idea to use this since it's setup to use WEP, but I'll let you figure out WPA2. auto wlan0 iface wlan0 inet static address 172.16.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 172.16.0.255 post-up iwconfig wlan0 mode Ad-Hoc rate auto essid "raspberries" channel 1 key 1234567890 You can setup a DHCP server on the RaspberryPi or you can configure a static IP such as 172.16.0.2 on your machine and SSH into the RaspberryPi through 172.16.0.1.
  2. That motherboard probably has two SATA chipsets. You will need to find the driver for the other chipset that you have the drives plugged into (probably Marvell).
  3. Windows 7 caches programs in memory so starting them up doesn't take as long. When more RAM is needed, Windows will free the cached memory. If you aren't experiencing any crashes and Windows doesn't feel slow then you don't need to worry about it. You can always upgrade to 8GB for almost nothing assuming you have DDR3 RAM.
  4. The only real difference between a Xeon and a desktop CPU is the binning process and they generally aren't overclockable. Xeon's are also going to be more reliable and most require ECC memory.
  5. I had the Razer Mamba 4G 2012 and it was a piece of crap. First replacement was due to the glue wearing out and wireless not working after it went into sleep mode. Second time was due to the mouse randomly dying every couple hours and requiring me to unplug it and plug it back in and of course wireless not working correctly. After that I sold it on eBay for $100. This has tainted my experience with Razer so I am going to recommend the Logitech G400/G500. Good luck though!
  6. vsync is completely useless with any FPS game. No matter how many frames your getting there will always be input lag which makes aiming impossible. A non-fps such as Diablo III (awful game by the way) is OK with vsync on though.
  7. Move your steamapps folder to the other drive, and make a sym link in the Steam folder to point to the new steamapps location.
  8. 100 / 8 = 12.5MB/s .... 10 / 8 = 1.25MB/s
  9. Switch the router with the switch.
  10. HWMonitor is awesome. I've never had SpeedFan work correctly since 2003. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
  11. Security Essentials is just terrible now. Avast and Malwarebytes is the way to go. http://www.theverge.com/2013/1/17/3885962/microsoft-security-essentials-fails-anti-virus-certification-test
