So The current situation i am in is that i have an i7-4790k and since the i7-6700k and i5-6600k came out i'v e been thinking i should upgrade. But I am not sure if i should wait for the next Intel or AMD CPUs to come out or to get an i7-6700k or i5-6600k now. I am only playing games like GTA V and Space Engineers (Look up on steam) which are fine with my 390X and i get nice frame rates from 60fps with VSync on, and 75-ish with VSync off and on High settings. I also do a lot of video editing and rendering soooooo. Any and all recommendations are appreciated! BTW I don't care if i have an AMD or Intel processor.

I don't play many games other than Space Engineers, to let out my inner engineering centered creativity, and GTA V because it is fun, and MODS! So you probably have more experiance with AAA

I have a GTX 960 and 8350, and i wish i had gotten a 970 because when i play games like Space Engineers, with lots of physics and tesselation, i can get about 50fps while looking at a planet from far away, with lowest graphics settings. But the 970 would do better, would it not? Also, i know the 6400 would do way better, AMD FX cpus are 4years old or something, but the 8350 would do better in multicore tasks, like Video rendering

8350 period, i would pair it with a 380X/ GTX 970 or better gpu. A GTX 960, would just not be worth pairing an 8350 with

I recommend you just go for a 750 watt PSU instead of just getting a new one with the same wattage. Also Pascal GPUs and the new Radeon GPUs are coming out later this year, why not wait for those? The performance boost from your 780 to a new Pascal GPU will be much greater than a 390X. I have one and compared to a 780 on GTA V, the game you play the most, as shown by your steam profile... they perform almost exactly the same.
