In a dark room with only one light. I'm scared. Wait that's my computer, I'm fine now.
  1. As a fan of self hosted services I recently found out about umbrel which is a platform that allows you to easily, from one machine, host multiple services. It looks like it is backed by docker-compose but abstracts all of that away from you and gives you a web portal that you can just add and configure these services from like an app store. I think there are a pretty good amount of people who would love to have some self hosted services (home assistant, pi-hole, plex, etc) but don't want to maintain multiple devices or a well and proper "server", This service might be just right for them. In addition to that it's a cool idea and it would be cool to draw attention to it. Would be really cool to have a video (might be a good one for Anthony to host) that goes over setting up Umbel and the things you can do with it. It would be really cool to set it up both on a Raspberry Pi and on something beefier (maybe a dell mini PC, or a PC gaming computer a few generations old) to see if it's worth going bigger if you want to run multiple things. Edit: Looking more deeply into it I'm a bit less excited, they seem a bit too into crypto for my taste, but I'll try it out anyhow
  2. Linus told us all about how repairable the FrameWork laptop is, I'd love to see him show us. Maybe do an iFixIt style teardown of the device, pull everything apart just how easy it actually is. It might be kinda nice to cohost with Anthony to also do some Linux content since the DIY version does come with a "No Operating System Included" option (but that sounds like a different video).
  3. I would agree with Worstcater, try PopOS, if it doesn't work go back to windows. If you are interested in linux, and PopOS isn't meeting your gaming needs, you can also dual boot, there is a good guide for that here: https://support.system76.com/articles/dual-booting/ This will give you the option to decide what you want everytime you boot, in the era of SSD's I think this can be preferable to Virtualization because it has no performance impact. Linux does have a learning curve, and Pop is no different, so make sure you give yourself the time to figure out the stuff that is different.
  4. I want a motherboard that has nothing but thunderbolt 3 on the back panel. And like 20 of them. Whatever it takes. Just sayin
  5. I have a Galexy S6... I have determined that the phone is working... However the screen is not.... Is there a way to veiw what is on screen without having to put an app on the phone.
  6. try plugging the monitor into the Display port on your MOBO... is your Bios Flashing or do you have a No POST situation?
  7. Learn an instrument... You can pick up a guitar on Craigslist for cheep. Learn a few chords and have fun with it.
  8. you might be able to get a better performance GPU... The nano is cool and all but not really necessary unless your building a small PC....
  9. So on my laptop the nvidia driver crashes in game giving the following message: "Display driver has stopped responding and recovered." The issue is not heat related as it occurs with gpu temps only at about 50*C my gpu is a 960m and the driver version is 10.18.15.4256 WHQL / Win10 64 Any ideas onwhat i can do to fix this?
  10. if its for engineering i would recommend going nvidia... It really is unlikely but there's a chance the software you use is cuda accelerated.
  11. banned 4 B-ing a gramar nazi?
  12. banned because your profile pic looks like the road i live on
  13. Looks good to me i would go for a K series processor though since you are getting an aftermarket cooler so that you can overclock the thing if you ever decide to... P.S. fix the double text in your post
  14. guy's, stop arguing, and return to topic... I think it is a good build but i would perhaps get a cheaper case and maybe an i5 CPU so you can fit an SSD in there...
