  1. Hmm, that sucks. It is just 2 years old. Looking closely at it, the only thing I saw that didn't seem right is the component on the picture. The components above and below it have 3 nicely seperated solderpoints. The middleone seems te be quite dirty, not sure if that would cause this problem.
  2. I did a quick measurement, it seems indeed shorted. The 8 pin has basically infinity resistance, the 6 pin basically 0.
  3. The GPU is an MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G. The PSU is a brand new (and working) Corsair RM650. I tried with multiple GPU's and PSU's and the fault happens with all psu's and just that graphicscard
  4. Hi everybody, I have an MSI GTX1070 graphicscard (with a 6-pin and 8-pin power connector), that is just 2 years old. It worked fine untill one day ago when my computer suddely stopped, no shutdown, nothing. Just plain off. It wouldn't boot anymore, I thought it was my rather old PSU, so I ordered a new one overnight, as it was due for a replacement anyway, but that did not work. After some further research I figured out the following: * My computer is fine, except for the graphicscard. * Nothing will work when I plug in PCI power to my graphicscard, no fans, light or anything else. * My psu will not start when I jump green and black on the 24 pin and only have the graphicscrard 6-pin connector connected. (8-pin is fine) * When I connect no PCI power, I get a warning message to plug in PCI power (I also get this with just my 8-pin connected) When I look at the PCB, there are no obviously broken components, burn marks or anything else. Does anyone of you know what could be wrong and weather or not I can fix it? Steenbrink
  5. The Bible is partly for looks, but also to redirect the air towards my GPU & CPU to create a better flow.
  6. The book is to direct the airflow from the 2 noctua fans towards my gpu and cpu. Just better airflow
  7. So I build a Linus style desk pc. It took me about 2 months of work to complete. (I completed this august 2017, and upgraded MDB, RAM & CPU in december 2017) You can check the specs on my profile iyw. (not really what this build is about). I decided to work with aircooling, as I am unfamilliar with watercooling and also a broke student. If anyone wants further detail, ask below, or pm me The lighting is RGB, but I didn't take picktures with different colors, because I forgot, and I am too lazy to take more. My plan for the future is to make a 3d style map of middle-earth (including Beleriand) in the right section of the desk, where I now have some random ornaments stored.
  8. I saw your reaction just after I tested it, thank you anyway!
  9. Oké, so I figured it out. I put some stereo speakers over the jack, and if I played the subwoofer channel I got sound from the right speaker. So the subwoofer goes trough the ring, or the right channel (the red cable if you have tulp to minijack).
  10. As you can see in this image, the jack consist of 3 parts, usually the left speaker goes over the tip, the right over the ring and the ground over the sleeve. Since the subwoofer and center jacks don't have such an obvious configuration I am wondering which speaker travels over what channel.
  11. From my motherboard I have a orange jack out, which is for the subwoofer/center speaker. Now my question is, which speaker goes over what part of the jack? I can't find it anywhere online.
