  1. Looks nice, but I'd love to see them make an Age of Empires 4. I'd buy that in a heartbeat. I wish there was an age of empires with online multiplayer and dedicated servers(not the p2p stuff we have in age of empires 3 where people just drop if they're gonna lose).
  2. http://deliddedtech.com/2017/06/27/techpowerup-advertorial-by-amd-draws-controversy/ I guess you gotta be careful with where you get your reviews. Sometimes sponsored content is poorly marked and it can be difficult to notice. I'm a big fan of AMD, but I'm not sure if I agree with the way this sponsored article was represented. It shouldn't have been in a reviews section, and it should've been marked more clearly.
  3. In my opinion, NVIDIA is overvalued at the moment. They're a good, profitable company, but they aren't worth the ridiculous price they're trading at now. The stock's price is based entirely on speculation that self driving cars will take off, that they'll be a major supplier of hardware for them, and that they will be able to profit heavily without significant competition from other vendors.
  4. http://deliddedtech.com/2017/05/28/bitcoincryptocurrency-craze-wipes-out-amd-gpu-supply/ Do you guys think this is good for AMD? They've had this happen before. While it certainly is helping short term sales, they aren't getting extra from the wholesalers/retailers that are charging more than MSRP. In addition, it could have negative effects in the long term due to large-scale offloading of used cards when this whole mining thing slows down, thus eventually encouraging users to pick up a used one for half price instead of buying new. In addition, gamers that are currently unable to get an AMD GPU at a reasonable price may go with NVIDIA, and get locked into proprietary hardware such as GSync monitors, thus discouraging them from upgrading to AMD in the future, thus hurting future sales. I personally have an RX 380 that I need to RMA, but I'm worried about if they'll even have any extras to replace it with since they're selling so quickly.
  5. The government should keep their hands off the internet. It's one of the greatest developments for creativity and economic development, the government can only stifle innovation to benefit the select few.
  6. Ridiculous. A software company is not responsible for it's consumers that blatantly misuse their product.
  7. Unions aren't needed to protect workers. If you think you're underpaid, go to another employer that will pay you more. When you get an offer, let your employer know and see if they truly value you more to get a raise. All unions do is cause lost productivity due to the government privileges they gain. The only markets in which they're successful is when the government requires you to be part of a union, or municipal unions that just cost taxpayers more.
  8. Ridiculous. I hope the companies that have to deal with the striking workers just find someone else that doesn't demand outrageous benefits. Why should voice actors get royalties on game sales, but not the programmers, graphic artists, project leads, etc?
  9. I wonder how many will feign ignorance to try and get reduced penalties.
  10. I was just using netcode as a term for code pertaining to networking, I didn't mean .NET in particular. .NET does seem to be used for a lot of IoT applications nowadays, though.
  11. There's a lot more to it than that. Yeah, they probably took the graphics API from Cryengine, but it does take a lot of work to make quality netcode to ensure games run well online. It's not as simple as integrating with Amazon AWS, they developed a framework for online games to make it easier to create the game rather than focusing on writing game server software.
  12. http://deliddedtech.com/2016/09/30/amazon-announces-3-new-online-games/ Most of the info so far is just for Breakaway, the esports title, but I'm particularly interested in New World. As an avid MMORPG player myself, I really look forward to a sandbox MMO where I can build still and interact with the world, instead of the same usual grinding of the same content. Which game interests you guys the most? I'm really looking forward to the next 3 days of Twitchcon to hear more.
  13. damn, pretty impressive that it pulls that. Makes these proposals a lot scarier, I never knew gaming systems can draw that much power at idle under normal conditions
  14. You shouldn't be drawing that much power idle. Did you disable any power saving features such as core parking or certain BIOS settings, or did you overclock your system?
