I had no plans of doing a status update today but the room I keep my servers in flooded. The good news is I keep them up on a table so the water never touched them. The 3 UPS units didn't get as lucky being closer to the ground. They're still fine as well but the cabling is wet and I need to replace the box they sit on.
I did have some equipment in the adjacent garage that got wet though. My poor gear.
The exact cause of the flood hasn't been fully determined but we see no other probable source than the sub-pump failing to run.
The good news out of all of this is we have no legitimate basement so the water only ever ran over the hole it didn't grow into a lake (though it did pool in the garage into a good sized puddle.)
Looks like I'm cancelling my plans to babysit the sub-pump. It seemly is working so we can't tell for sure what the real cause or problem is.

That was a close call.

@Ultrasnoop That depends. Which one?
I'm more concerned about the 162lbs of UPS.
Then there's a couple items in the garage that are probably gonna rust if I don't dry them.
-
@Ultrasnoop ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) No.
Bottom one is a VM server that provides a variety of local and remote services. It has 2x 2670v1 and 128GB of DDR3
The middle one is a Disk Enclosure that runs over a SASII link to the top server to act as bulk storage for long term data.
The top server is my primary storage server which is entirely SSD based storage. It has 2x 2698v3's and 512GB of DDR4
All the extra compute power that I don't use I throw at BOINC (WCG).

Sorry to hear that. Our Basement got once flooded too but that was because of heavy rain falls over the night. Luckily only non mission critical stuff got wet. Our Synology DS216play NAS is in my Dads Office in the basement but the water didn't make it till there.

@Ultrasnoop So it only happened once?
...gross...
-
@Schnoz That's disgusting.

Today I got to most of my equipment including a:
- Xigmatek Elysium
- Corsair 900D
- IBM eServer iSeries model 9406-270
I was able to get them up off the ground and are drying. I may also need to look into replacing the box my UPS's sit on as it will definitely grow mold if I don't.
