  1. Favorite line from the e3d support page Sorry about off-topic post
  2. Yes but as a beginner it was extremely helpful to build a reprap printer because it made me understand how things work and allows me to easily identify issues with my printer and others (even high end printers). While this might not be a good idea for someone who is not good with technology, if you are good with technology I believe that it can be extremely beneficial to build your first printer.
  3. Awesome! I'm working out installing a 3mm e3d Bowden setup for my printer
  4. Yes but I do believe that the new firmware for the Anet a8 (Skynet3d v1.1) has other fixes for the printer
  5. I have to say that I agree that Chinese printers are A LOT of work but if you are willing to deal with the assembly and headache of messing with and upgrading it Chinese printers can be quite nice.
  6. The printer I have has a pretty good heated bed in my opinion. It can get up to 110°C on about 2 and a half min and 60° in a min. It is a 12v heated bed FYI And yes it is printed in vase mode. It is not the best printer but for $180 it's great for its price.
  7. Yes but the i7 will allow for you to play the games betrlter and allow for Less bottleneck on a gpu
  8. I would choose the i7-3930k because of the better single core performance and with 6 cores it should work well with even some programs that like high core count CPUs. It will also perform better in games because of this
  9. By that I mean that the Z170-A can support 3 monitors on Integrated graphics and the Z170-E can only support 2 monitors on Integrated graphics (motherboard I/O). but if you have a graphics card then you can use as many monitors as your card supports.
  10. The Z170-E has fewer features than the Z170-A a few more. Such as: -The Z170-A has more video input support and can support up to 3 seperate monitors using integrated graphics -The Z170-A can support a larger amount of graphics cards simultaneously, NVIDIA® Quad-GPU SLI™ Technology as well as AMD 3-Way CrossFireX™ Technology. The Z170-E is limited to 2 way SLI and Crossfire. -The Z170-A has 1 extra legacy PCI lane -The Z170-A has slightly better in-built audio -The Z170-A has both USB 3.1 A & C connections, the Z170-E only has USB 3.1 C.
  11. It is nice but you need to update the firmware if you want to do this I suggest joining the Facebook group and getting the updated firmware file there and then you can figure out how to update the firmware as well. Link to Facebook group: https://m.facebook.com/groups/1068531466501015?view=info P.S I own that exact printer but don't use an auto-leveling sensor because I don't want to spend the time on if. It just doesn't seems like that much of a benefit.
  12. OK I agree that some i3 clones can have terrible printing results but at the same time if you don't have a lot of money or you aren't sure that youll like printing some Chinese printers can be very nice. For example: That object was printed from a $180 Prussia i3 clone. That object is straight off the printer no post processing. It may take awhile to calibrate the printer that nice (no way it'll look that good out of the box) and you'll have to assemble the printer yourself. but if you can it can be a very nice printer. One thing you are missing with a Chinese printer is customer support. But for that printer there is a 10,500 and growing (about 3k per month) Facebook group for any questions. Overall if you have the money and are willing to spend it or have had a printer before then go with the official Prusia i3 kit if not then a Chinese may be a decent alternative. 13. You adjust the heat through software (slicers) or the printer it self the voltage is for different countries the actual printer will run off of 12v or 24v DC most likely 12v if I may ask what printer do you have?
  14. Ah well either way no need for the i7 the i5 will work plenty fine for that usage Case. In fact I use the i5-4960k for my gaming rig. Which is plenty fast
  15. Yeah the i5-6500 will work fine if your friend wants speed just save the extra money and buy an SSD
  16. I'd have to go with the razor blade. Because then my laptop can be edgy just like me. I'd use the laptop for school and gaming cuz my current laptop is a peice of junk that barely runs
  17. Oh. that sucks. I wanted to play NMS is there anyway i can get opengl 4.5? I know this sounds stupid but I must try
  18. I own the AMD R7 250x and I was wondering what version of opengl is supported by my card
  19. I do for those pesky company's that still put their devices drivers on a cd
