  1. Go to www.pcpartpicker.com, build the system you are planning on buying, and then copy and paste the link (you should see this option fairly easily) in this thread.
  2. Also, If you post a link to your build on pcpartpicker people can give you a better response as they know how much you are planning to pay for each item, as well as easily select changes for you.
  3. Or get for $20 on Kinguin with their buyer protection.
  4. Probably just bloat ware vs actual virus. Should be fine if uninstall worked and your performance is back to normal. Just be sure to run malwarebytes again in a couple days and keep an eye on system performance.
  5. Given the hardware you will have, and the titles you will be playing, I highly doubt you will have any remorse over going with a 980ti. It will last you well into the future, AND, if you decided to upgrade in the future, I anticipate you will have a much easier time / cost recoup from a 980ti. A 970 will work, and if budget is a big concern, is viable. You could also always add another 970 down the line in SLI. But my guess is that if you were to play games for a month on each card, you would find that the extra $ was worth it (assuming you are gaming more than 4 - 6 a week). But in the end, it is all a personal preference and opportunity cost issue, so you must decide
  6. I used an e8500 until 1 year ago Great CPUs...
  7. Not a huge difference if price is a major factor...some of the benefits come from the new z170 architecture though...
  8. but...why...?? the stock fans are awesome as is - why spend more money?
  9. I think that is a bit overkill for these cards IMO...they run really cool as is, and creating a custom fan curve makes it so you never get outside of 50s / low 60s.
  10. I looked on their website and it said I had the most current version (by version number), but I will try to dl and see what happens. My ASIC is 76%. The card was running at 1430mhz boost clock and 7200mhz on memory out of the box (well above the advertised 1317 and 7000 advertised). I was able to get it stable at 1525mhz and 7350mhz without increasing the core voltage (mine is stock at 1.18), whereas increasing the voltage did little to nothing in terms of OC ability. Of note, I did not attach the extra 6 pin power cable on my card, or on the PCI board, as my PSU doesn't have enough cables available. Going to maybe try splitting some and see if anything changes though, although I am under the impression that third power input on the card is only for LN2...
  11. Also, another random question, do you have the LED color change option in OC Guru II? All the screen shots I see online show an option to change the LED colors...but mine doesnt give me an option for some weird reason..
  12. I don't have rust. What ASIC quality did you get? Have you tried OC'ing yet?
  13. P.S. I would be curious what kind of performance you are getting out of yours. There are not a lot of Xtreme posts out, mostly G1.
  14. It's safe, but it is set up this way to help reduce the noise. If you don't mind the noise, which I don't, I suggest doing a custom curve to bring temps down. In theory, this should also help with OC'ing.
  15. Did you try rolling back to the previous driver? I would do that first to determine if it is a hardware or software issue. If hardware, and unable to RMA, could always try to watercool...
  16. Skylake will work with DDR3 or DDR4, it just depends on the motherboard. So just pay attention to which RAM the motherboard that you ultimately select requires.
  17. I would suggest that if you are wanting to do all that at the same time, you should consider going for the 5820 or a Xeon instead of the older i7.
  18. For some games maybe, but I honestly think the 780 is probably plenty for most, especially for something like CS GO.
  19. I would also download GPUZ and CPUZ and note how much RAM they are detecting on your system and graphics card.
  20. Possible, but given the CPU froze before this issue, doesnt sound like PSU to me.
  21. Was it overclocked? Try clearing the CMOS and then booting. Otherwise, you may have fried your CPU or MB..
  22. I not sure if you are joking or not, but this build is not only capable, but likely overkill. What is the native resolution of your monitors?
  23. If you want to game and overclock, the MSI Xpower Titanium is pretty good option...but a little pricey.
