  1. Currently running 2 Cyberpower 1500AVR's.Had them for a few years now, just replaced 1 battery a year or so ago.

They are used to allow enough time to shut down safely,Even have the Modem plugged in so the internet stays up.

Have come in handy numerous times over the years due to power outages.Highly recommend.

Bought mine on a good sale years ago,I think they only cost me like $120 Cdn ea when I got them.

These would be the replacements for mine:

    Hello everyone,

I got up super early on Thursday and lined up outside Memory Express in Vancouver with the hope of getting a 5900X. Unfortunately the person a few places behind me in the queue nabbed the last one. That's right. A few places behind me. My cashier was really slow and kept making mistakes while processing/entering my request into the system, so by the time he actually went to shelves behind the counter, it was gone. Yay.

I put my name down for the 5800X & 5900X for when they come in stock. The idea was to check the soon-to-come-out reviews for which one best suits my needs (productivity + gaming), then grab it when it comes in stock.

I left the store, got a few blocks down the road and then got a call saying the cashier had made a mistake and the 5800X was available, so I went back and was told to go and see that same cashier again. My intentions were still the same, hold on to it, study reviews, then return it/sell it (for a fair price, I hate scalpers) if reviews suggested it wasn't the right SKU for my needs. Before the transaction the cashier told me it was non-returnable, then during the transaction he cut the seal and opened the box to show me that the pins were all good, which they were.

Lo and behold, it seems that the 5900X is by far the most suitable SKU for my needs.

I've been trying to sell the 5800X for what I paid for it (despite them going on eBay for $100-$400 more), but the three potential buyers I've spoken with do not want it as the seal is broken, despite the fact I have the receipt which would give it a warranty.

Edit* I don't have eBay and my friends tell me it will be hard to set up an account to sell this type of product as I will have no seller feedback.

Also, annoyingly, I made a couple of friends in the line up that day and we exchanged details. None of their CPUs were cut open by the cashier, and they were also not told that their CPU was non returnable.

I've been trying to call Memory Express on Broadway, Van, all day, to ask about their return policy, but their phone number has not been working. I'm hoping to speak to a manager there as I feel a little hard done by. I also want to check that my name is in fact on the list for the 5900X given the series of mistakes the cashier made.

But I'm stuck with a 5800X that I'm not sure what to do with. I live on modest means, $700 is a lot.

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Kind thanks, Van Dan.

It does not say it is not returnable on the Website, you always have 15 days. What does the receipt say?

And If you live on modest means, what are you doing buying a $700+ CPU?

  3. Running the ASUS STRIX RX5700XT OC with a 2700X and runs like a champ.no driver issues whatsoever, and am extremely happy with them both.I have had 0 black screens and 0 crashes, plays everything I play with no problems, all benchmarks I have done are stable and great. My complete system specs are below. Wouldn't change it for anything.

I haven't played to many AAA games lately, but everything I have played has been flawless.

Ever since i first lurked around the forum about a year back i keep seeing people having the same issue with the radeon adrenaline software. (specially with the newest 20.2.2 update)

for anyone who's experiencing random game crashes(specially with no error codes or no bugsplats) or youtube videos going black this might be your issue and should be the first thing you look into when troubleshooting.

i heavily recommend following proper driver installation and it also seems that whenever you have to update your driver it seems that you have to uninstall it (DDU+Safemode) and install the most current one.

and if that doesn't work then rolling back or installing a older version of the driver.

After almost 20 years exclusively using AMD GPU's,I have had very few,if any driver issues, last year I built a new Ryzen system with a RX580 and then updated to the ASUS RX5700XT OC,I have had 0 driver issues,no crashes or black screens.I have never used or needed DDU or any other driver cleaner,I have always just used the AMD uninstaller with each driver update.

I have been reading up on all the issues others are having and am at a loss as to what the issues they are having are caused by,Because not everyone is having these issues.

My 5700XT even has the "too short cooler screw"issue, yet my temps are great.

AHH that's to bad. I was really hoping to run at 3600mhz, it also runs on the next speed up that I think is like 3433mhz or around there. It's prob worth noting that in cpuz the XMP profile stated that the ram voltage is boosted on a 3600mhz speed. So I went to the bios to see if this voltage did change with the profile and it did but as said before fails to boot. Is there now way to make this work, and would it be something to do with the Samsung b-die and me maybe not having a set of ram with those chips?

Run Thaipoon Burner and check your Ram .My 3200Mhz Kit is samsung B dies .I am running them at 14 13 13 28 1T

You need to remember that is still overclocking , they may advertise it as a 3600 but it’s not guaranteed it’ll work at that speeds. You can always rma it and try another set, but tbh this may be caused by the cpu as well.

    Or the Motherboard

So I've just built a new pc specs as follows...

    Amd ryzen 3600x

Corsair vengeance pro rgb 3200 kit (2x8gb)

    Asrock x570 phantom 4

    Adata 512gb m.2

    4tb hdd

Issue is I noticed the ram speed was 2133mhz on first boot. I know this is what happens, so I used the XMP profile ( ONLY ONE XMP OPTION) so I used this to raise the speed to its box rated speed of 3600mhz. This failed to boot so I did a manual overclock to 3200 and this was fine, am I doin something wrong as I'd like to run it at 3600mhz as I did pay extra for this speed. Any help appreciated. Thanks

your post says you bought 3200 mhz Ram and that's what it will run at. Your CPU is a 3600 not the memory.

Does anyone know if there are any drivers for my Radeon HD 4870 (on windows 10)?

No windows 10 drivers for that GPU, They only go up to Windows 8.

Upgrading to a more modern card would be relatively inexpensive considering even the lowest end newer GPU would be far faster than a 4870.

Yeah but how long can someone have the computer under load at one time that this is going to cause a catastrophe?

It's not just about load, its more about the quality of the components in a PSU, Not all PSU's use quality components,Like anything else, you get what you pay for.
