  1. I have a neighbor that wants to have a system where he has a tablet mounted to the wall to control all the music. From there, he would like to have speakers laying around that can be controlled wirelessly or Bluetooth. I am thinkin about going with lights with the speakers in them, as all they are using them for is for background noise. Doesn't need a fancy stereo system. What would you recommend?
  2. What processor are you going to be using
  3. I have been trying for days now to get this working. I have ProtonVPN and I am trying to run my plex server through it. I have a second PC up to test this stuff out and I am getting into the same dead end as every attempt. I can't access media outside of my network and I wish to do so. I have port forwarded, and it says it connects, and then says remote is not working. Tried both in Ubuntu Server and Windows 10 Any tips here would be nice.
  4. Thank you very much. This seems like what I may be looking for. I will work on this when I get out of work today! Thanks a bunch!
  5. The OS is already set up. I am not sure how to use VLANs if that is what I need. I just want normal LAN on Port 1, and then VPN to go through port 2.
  6. Of course. It already has pfsense installed onto it as well as ProtonVPN set up with the certificates.
  7. So I have this device https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PHHXN9V?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details It has 4 Ethernet ports on the back. Port 0 in which I am using as a WAN (in) and the other 3 are normal LAN. This is using pfSense. I would like Port 0 being the wan, Port 1 being LAN for normal day to day stuff like gaming PC, wifi AP, TVs, etc I would like Port 1 to be a VPN, which I will be using ProtonVPN for, and have a wifi AP dedicated for wifi VPN devices. Not the best drawing in Paint, but kinda what I had in mind. I think there is going to be something with VLANs, but I really don't know how to set those up. Any help would be appreciated. The Normal Wifi AP is going to be Ubiquiti so there is a switch with the cloud key on it with the AP hooked up as well. Its not a managed switch. the VPN AP is a TP-Link router I just had laying around which is going to be in AP mode and DHCP is done on the pfSense.
  8. What does a NAS ssd have over a traditional SSD? The TBW are about the same. and IOPS are higher on samsung. Is it more for the longevity of the drive? Or is the warranty different?
  9. So my home server is getting itself a nice little upgrade from 4x 2TB HDD (Raid 5) which are a few years old now. Its just plex, local storage, and hosing a Valheim server on it currently. I am thinking about cutting some heat, power, and noise down since the rest of the system is on a passive cooler with 2 fans running in low RPM mode. So would a WD Red SSD or Samsung 870 EVO or WD Blue SSD be better here? Where I am located, both are about the same, and Seagate equivalents are way to expensive for some reason right now for Price per TB. Samsung - I have some points with bestbuy where I could get 30$ off this here https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Inch-Internal-MZ-77E4T0B-AM/dp/B08QBL36GF?th=1 WD Blue https://www.newegg.com/western-digital-blue-4tb/p/N82E16820250121?Description=WD ssd 4tb&cm_re=WD_ssd 4tb-_-20-250-121-_-Product&quicklink=true WD Red No link, but its at my local bestbuy for 310$
  10. I am confused here. You need 8 drives to store game data? Even if its all just 1TB drives, that 8 TB of HDD space, or if you are using Raid 4TB with 4TB redundant. I bought a mini PC from Minisforum, and I run 6 Arks servers on it with 64GB of RAM.
  11. If you are posting to youtube, Just record at 60FPS and turn VSYNC on
  12. Cyberpunk Ultra with RTX? 3080 and up. I wouldnt bother with RX card. I have a 6900 XT and I can play ultra no problem, but RTX messes it up as its 1st gen RT cores. If I play with FSR performance, I still get under 60 with RTX on. that 3060 TI or 3070 would be good
  13. What is your current build? for 500$ I would rather just buy a GPU itself if the computer you have can handle it.
  14. So I have this Optiplex 3020 with an I7-4785T processor (4 core 8 thread) 8GB RAM 128GB SSD I have this running PfSense, and a USB to Ethernet adapter running to a PC. I am unable to get the full speed to my ISP at all. Desktop without pfsense, is 220 D , 13 U Desktop with pfsense is 45 D , 12 U I tried the usb to ethernet on other computers, and they can get the full speed if I am not hooked up to the pfsense computer. I am plugged into a USB 3.0 port, so I should be able to get faster speeds than 45 when hooked up to it. This is with pfsense This is without pfsense
  15. So I love how Hirens works and was very curious how to do such a thing. I would personally love to make a custom WinPE with the tools that I use that have the licenses that I have paid for. This would be an only me ISO image. Any ideas where to start?
  16. Hello. So I have AOMEI Backupper portable and I am having some issues with booting the drive after cloning. I can make a backup of the computer to a NAS no problem. I can use bootable media (WinPE or Hirens), and recover the computer that way. I can even clone the OS and boot off the new drive no problem. When I am at the desktop however, I can backup and restore no problem, but when I go to cloning, it says that it succeeded but then when I try booting of the cloned drive it fails to boot and throws an error. Here is that error : windows error 0xc0000225 Looking into it it says it cant find the system files for booting. I have taken the drive and ran chkdsk on it and it came out with no corruptions so that's good. I have run a sector check and that's all good as well. Only thing is when I try and boot the computer it doesn't seem to see the drive in the boot options. I went into the bios and it shows that its there in the SATA port. And then when I reboot it shows it in the boot menu, but when I boot from it, it will toss the error out.
  17. You have a 5800X and a 3070. Its amazing price for 1200$. That rig is going to run just about anything.
  18. So I am in the market for a 5 port POE Switch, and each port needs to support 24v. I am trying to power just 3 Ubiquiti G3 Flex cameras, and the one I picked up has 12v and I didnt realize that. So the cameras work, but instead of 25fp, its like 1 frame every 10 seconds. I dont want to buy a ubiquiti switch for only 3 cameras.
  19. So this is an example of what I am looking for, but I only have a normal outlet and im looking for something like this that just has 1 ethernet port, or just a slot that I can plug in a keystone jack. So just 1 power plug and 1 ethernet / keystone slot is needed. I dont have a double wide slot at all.
  20. Does AMD RSR work on a 4700u by chance? If so this would be nice to run 720p and upscale to 1080p/1440p and have a nice little mobile gaming box.
