  1. I just laugh when people state DX11 performance isn't important and that DX12 is the only relevant measure of performance. Do you actually think all game developers will immediately jump on DX12? It takes time for engines to mature on new API's... I reckon you'll still see DX11 titles release up until end of 2018...
  2. Prysin? *Takes a vegetable peeler to his scrotum*
  3. I've been wondering on this case... it might be possible to run an SLI setup where the main card is traditionally seated in the mobo, but the second card can be stood up using the PCIe extender.... the only issue is if both cards are any of the Geforce GTX 10x0 models, I will need to run a HB bridge... This will not work for a 90 degree ofset between cards... really whish Nvidia would support a flexible HB bridge design EDIT: O well, seems I'll be sticking to the Evolv ATX Tempered Glass case then...
  4. Also check if you specified that your GPU should handle the PhysX in the GForce Control Panel
  5. Most of those will most likely be assigned to pre-orders already...
  6. Your closest bet at a "reference" model closer to the mythical $380 than the FE version... https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1070-AERO-8G.html#hero-overview
  7. Just an update, renamed the rig from WarMachine to Spartan (You'll notice I've updated everywhere ) , and with that also the color scheme... At the moment the custom cabling will be targetting ModMesh versions with the colors of red/carbon/black
  8. That's all dependent on the silicone lottery... Yep, and the Strix is still on average the best implementation after the Inno X3 (but in my country the Inno isn't an option). Noise is subjective if you have a case, it'll need to scream like a banshee to be irritating...
  9. 1936 in OC mode minimum, GPU Boost will be in the 2's http://www.asus.com/au/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING/specifications/
  10. Purely for a clocks point of view, the Strix wins hands down...
  11. Most 3440x1440 displays are rated to either 75Hz (FreeSync) or 100Hz (G-Sync)... so if a 1080 can run above the 100fps mark at 3440x1440... it should be more than enough
  12. Let's apply some science/math to this... using some previous "benchmarks" found at VideoCardz: If we expect the 1070 to run around mid point to a Titan X and 980 Ti... lets say the average score might be 21705 ((22903+20507)/2) and the Average price between MSRP and FE models will be around say $410. This give you roughly 53 points per $. If we take the 480's performance at 18060 and the expected price of the 8GB at $240, this will give you roughly 75 points per $. So yes, the relative performance per $ will be roughly 40% higher on the 480
  13. LGA 3647 will be mainly used by the EP ranges...
  14. I also see it that way, if the factory was able to get fairly higher clocks than the competition, it might be better at getting that little bit more...
  15. 1. HBM1 was only available to AMD and not Nvidia... blame AMD. 2. GDDR5X is an alternative available before HBM2 becomes mainstream. Nvidia released the first production HBM2 (P100/GP100) and GDDR5X (GP104) boards... where's AMD? blame AMD.
  16. True, but not everybody is interested in OC'ing to that extent and want to just buy a factory OC'd card that can work well day 1.
  17. If it's worth it... I'm waiting for confirmation on clocks...
  18. Maybe Newegg's taking chances... but indeed... WTF Newegg/MSI!?!?
