  1. So I have been monitoring temps and doing a lot of testing to get my overclock where I want it. Still more to go on that. I'm very happy with the water cooling setup I have so far. Idle temp is 19 C which I think is amazing! With my overclock still in the works at the current stable frequency of 4.4 temps max out at 65 with 1.33V. Not my idea of a good frequency but everything works well and the system is very strong. Video conversion for a 1.2 GB file takes under 3 mins which is blazing fast! Might add a second pump and move the lower rad to the front so I can get another HDD cage in there
  2. How are the temps with the delid you did? I'm planning to do the same.
  3. Wow. That thing looks like a beast. Thanks for the candid feedback on the raid card. Looking forward to the migration to the Caselabs unit
  4. Awesome build!!! I would suggest a 900D and order to 2 extra cages - will give you 15 cages total stock. Then you could add more with a Optical bay adapter and stuff more in. You could probably get away with 20+ drives in that case. And you could fit pretty much anything in there. How is your RAID card working out? I'm looking at getting the same one. Anything to avoid?
  5. simply WOW! Your attention to detail is inspiring. I'm looking forward to the final pics. The bent acrylic tubing is amazing!!
  6. 4.6 is not stable. It is for a few mins then it BSODs. Is it because of the Speedstep? Do I need to have a fixed frequency? I would love to retain Speedstep if possible. I have backed it down to 4.4 GHz for now. Works like a charm. I guess I can settle on that if I have to.
  7. thanks for the compliments guys! Loving the new computer. I'm having some trouble with my overclock though. I'm trying to reach 4.7 GHz. No luck. Not sure if I have a bad chip or not. Won't boot past 4.6. BSOD on startup. I'm really hoping to retain speedstep (different power cycles and frequencies - used on demand) but it looks like that might not work. Currently: -disabled CPU LLC -base voltage of 1.225V -dynamic voltage of +0.035 Under Prime 95 testing 4.6GHz is stable for a few mins then BSOD. I did notice that the voltage gets up to a fixed point of 1.33V @ 4.6GHz. I'm a newbie to overclocking but looking into de-liding the CPU for cooler temps. I have invested a fair amount of $$$ into the watercooling setup and I know its good components. Idle temps are between 24-31C which I'm really happy with. Really annoyed with the overclock though. Will keep working on it. If anyone has any good guides they can recommend, please share the wealth of knowledge. And let me know if I have to give up on the idea of keeping Speedstep working. Thanks!
  8. Awesome! Love how clean it looks. I really need to get some sleeved cable for my build.
  9. I'm interested in this too but I have a question: do you clean up the contact area and put the new paste on and put the lid back on? Or do you run it without a lid? My waterblock directly on the chip (without lid)?? Thanks in advance!
  10. Nice hardware. Looking forward to your build
  11. Love Desk builds!! Looking forward to the progress pics
  12. so I have had the computer on for 3 days straight but I still air moving through the waterloop!! Any ideas on how to get them out? I have move the case every way i can in order to bleed out the air. No leaks but i can still see trapped water bubbles. Not easy to move around either since the case + components + 2 bottles of coolant = 80 lbs+
  13. Good point on the fan controller. I'm in Vancouver too! I look forward to your build and especially the pics. Put lots of pics up!!
  14. Awesome!! Looks like a modified version of the new Mac Pro! LOL. Can't wait to see the completed product. Subscribed!
  15. Nicely done. Are you using that one fan controller to manage all 18 fans? I just finished my 900d build and it sucks that they don't give you a fan controller for this caliber of a case. Nice build so far
  16. EK UV reactive Lime Green. Thanks! I love the name too! Great minds think alike! ;). I use OS X as my primary system and Windows 8 is just for gaming. I have some UV cold cathode kits on their way. Will take moreIcs after its installed.
  17. So I completed my build. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I didn't have the patience to take pics along the way - was too excited!
  18. Yes it is. Gigabyte wind force factory OC 670 which uses the 680 PCB
  19. how about going to an automotive radiator repair place? I did that with my motorcycle and it worked just fine.
