MrNehva's Achievements

  1. Here is the story, My 8 year old mbo died, since I don't have funds to upgrade yet, I got a new used s.775 p35 mbo. W10 tried to restore itself but it failed so a clean install is due. I hate W10 more then Jabba hates Solo since it constantly makes my life difficult at work and on my laptop. I am considering W8.1 or W7, I have an SSD, my main objective is to have a rock solid OS for my main rig, I need dependability not "innovation" Windows 8.1 is interesting since it has a later EOL and handles SSDs better, W7 is rock solid on my hardware. I know Slick is using an "roided out W8.1" and was wondering how and why. Happy to hear your input!
  2. Did you check the switch on the back of the psu?
  3. I don't think these APU-s will go to the laptop market, from what you mentioned, I think this is a great alternative to the pentium line
  4. I think these will be a hit if OEMs recognize them, small dimensions, affordable, and with an upgrade path? Count me in, I would love to have this at work instead of a G4440 Intel
  5. I don't want to end up appearing condescending, but you clearly didn't get my sarcasm, I was joking, LTT and LMG in general, are the most transparent bunch of individuals you can find on the internet. IMHO they do their ads and reviews by the book and the segways to their sponsors are smoother then two Brazilians sliding in oil.
  6. How secure would your facilities be? Redundancy? Data shipping security? Data capacity? If I understood correctly, you want to make a cloud backup company with an cold storage data vault. Anyone serious about their backups doesn't do it manually, they are done automatically on a schedule. It's a nice idea but there are companies who already streamlined the process on a huge scale. Check this out https://techcrunch.com/2016/11/30/amazon-will-truck-your-massive-piles-of-data-to-the-cloud-with-an-18-wheeler/ Even Google drive data is saved in multiple data centers around the world. And take a peek at this https://cloud.google.com/storage/archival/
  7. I don't get these threads, everyone knows they are shills, that's why we all love them
  8. Which one? I have a 2650 which I wanted to use to try out different VMs, the thing is so loud I binned the project, if left on the floor the thing vibrated so much I could feel it in the floor on the other side of the flat. Plus what GPU support...
  9. For me its financially more viable to get a PS4. I don't have much time and energy to game and when I do I want everything to work. Since my current rig is turning 9 years, the amount of money to make (in my mind) a decent gaming (workstation) rig outweighs the price of the console five fold. My pc is great for productivity but it started to lack in the gaming department. So I vote console.
  10. Here are a couple of mine I find hard piping a waste of time, money and functionality I like the Noctua color scheme Air cooling > liquid cooling Big air cooler > AIO liquid cooling Can't justify an SSDs price per GB over an HDD even though the speed difference People who pre-order should be shot on sight. RGBs on internal hardware are tacky
  11. I would love to win an SSD because I am running a 7 year old rig and an SSD was in planning (from the first 60GB ones) but it never materialized since my collage tuition increased. I would love one since Steve is near silent but the HDDs love to make a rattle while I study and that drives me crazy... P.S. Everyone should join the glorious SSD Master Race. Best regards, MrNehva & Steve
