So what i want to do is map a drive on my desktop to my laptop computer i have done all the check of boxes that i can find to allow all the networking possible i am on the same wifi connection and i have tried unchecking IPV6 i can ping the laptop and the laptop can ping me but my desktop wont appear on the network and the other devices wont see my computer i have tried using the exact network drive address given but it doesnt work i am assuming it must be because i am not connected to the network but i cant get it to connect my laptop is able to connect to the network but my desktop cant even on the same wifi ssid and with internet connection i have tried troubleshooting but it didnt come back with anything any suggestions would be welcome!!

Yea I have already tried all of those things with no success but the problem is that I am not having those symptoms his at least the fans spin mine don't do anything

So I was playing csgo with a friend when suddenly it froze the screen went green and then it turned off. when I tried turning it on again it did nothing, no fans, no hard drive, no LEDs nothing. I have tested the PSU and that works fine as when I use a paper clip the fans spin etc. I have tried shorting the power button, i have tried unplugging all periferals, usbs and internal connections. I have tried rebuilding the entire computer but all with no success. It might be the CPU overheating but it never really gets ridiculously hot max 70 degrees when it crashed the inside of the case was warm but not that hot. Any ideas would be helpful!! Specs: i5 4690k at 4.1ghz Be quiet dark rock 3 cooler MSI z97 WiFi motherboard Evga 550gs PSU Sapphire r9 280 8gb crucial balistixs Samsung 850 pro ssd

yea i have tried but they have a lot of restrictions regulated by external people to prevent things such as bullying and allowing students from accessing inappropriate material and if they don't follow the regulations then they will not be allowed to give any internet connection to the pupils. So they wont actually help me but they aren't going to necessarily going to stop me, provided i don't do anything stupid!!!

meh i can just say that i was downloading something if they cant see what it is and the person that will be checking is my house master not the computing technicians and they are he is not that good with computers to do much more than go "oh, right ok......."

i am trying atm and i have created an account and it says "your account isn't active yet wait a few minutes and try again" it has been 45 minutes and its still not working i wouldn't imagine that the network is blocking that any ideas??

my academic work is fine thank you very much i am doing A levels and am averaging A* in all my subjects and i will not be punished for getting around it as i help the computing technicians quite a lot with the network they appreciate it quite a lot

Hey, so i go to a boarding school and i rely very heavily on the internet that the school which i go to provides. They had blocked a whole lot of things my solution was easy, download a vpn and no questions where asked. Recently they have been upgrading the whole thing and they have been putting some new software on the system that can do a whole lot more blocking certain websites and one of those things is they have managed to block vpns. They now have to do this to pass all the regulations set upon the school etc. i need to find a way of getting around this does any one have any ideas. i don't have a problem with the restrictions them selves my main problem is they are monitoring all my usage and some of the teachers are getting pissed that i am staying up till 1AM on YouTube etc does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this i have tried tonnes of VPN and i don't want to use TOR even if it does work if i get caught with that ill get in a lot of trouble. My computing technicians quite like me and don't really care what i do to get around it, so its not like i'll get in that much trouble for it.
