Steve can't control if someone subscribes to his channel and of course that video is going to get him attention.
 
He was also the first person to call Linus and get his attention when the LMG channels got hacked. I really don't think his intent was hurt Linus in a personal way.
 
The wake up call he gave them helped the company make the decision to take a week off from putting videos out and give employees time to actually work on improving their processes. 
 
I am sure they will be on friendly terms in the future.

The callousness of the way Linus has handled the entire Billet Labs situation has been TERRIBLE.
 
- Figured out they were using a card the GPU was not designed for
 
- Decides to use wrong card anyways instead of stopping production
 
- Gets data the block was not cooling the card correctly
 
- Published the video trashing the block 
 
- Gets obviously annoyed he was called out on the video
 
- Says it's not worth a couple hundred dollars to retest it
 
- Says none of prior ethical mistakes matter because it's not worth $800 anyways
 
- Doesn't send a prototype part back to the company
 
- Puts Billet Labs behind on development of their product
 
- Uses it for an auction at LTX

Literally none of that matters when when Billet Labs sent a 3090ti they LOST and was supposed to go along with the waterblock. 
 
And Billet Labs having a pinned comment that LTT 'hearted' that said the 4090 has a 1mm gap after they actually looked into it. 
 
And people keeping offering up these WEAK excuses after Linus has TRIPLED down on not giving a F if they had the right GPU or not.

I don't think the pace is any surprise when Linus has expressed on numerous occasions they need people to buy backpacks and screw drivers. He obviously made a go for it financial reach with LTT Labs and needs people watching videos and buying products to make the investment back. The worst thing you can do in a time of financial reach and investment is willfully shooting yourself in the foot and not playing it safe. That is what he hired Terren for and he already undermined any response from that side of the house.

I have zero problem with paid advertisement spots or paid in video ad reads. I do think the channel accepting paid ad reads needs to CLEARLY mark in video what is paid and what is not. I feel the same for all social media. If you are receiving compensation for posting anything you need to disclose that up front or clearly distinguish what parts of the video are paid and which are not or in the case of fully sponsored videos they should be labeled as ads that is clearly distinguished from normal content.

The best way they could have responded to this is a professional response with Terren taking charge but I had my own doubts about hiring a CEO as soon as it was announced and how much actual sway they would have at LMG when Linus can step in at any time and undermine or pre-empt the CEO based on Linus's knee jerk reactions. 
 
Based on the half baked at best to downright lying in Linus' response I think the best thing for the company moving forward would be for Linus to take some time off and let Terren actually be a CEO and put his stamp on the company. Linus has earned a break after all these years and Terren needs room to do his job while also being able to act on fixing issues. We need to see results from the change in leadership and Linus actually being adult enough to follow through with hiring a CEO and not just paying someone to be a scapegoat. If I were Terren I'd be EXTREMELY alarmed at how the past few days have gone down.
