  1. I thought about this setup, but 11600k is similar performance and double the power consumption...
  2. Ahh good point, I just saw there is a fan in the from but ignored that the front panel is solid. And for PSU I will probably get the 500W one, I just saw that it's actually cheaper than 400 for some reason. 5800x would be nice, but is 110 Euro more expensive...
  3. Budget (including currency): About 800 Eur Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games, light productivity So first of all, I know a fair bit about PC hardware but haven't been keeping up with the news in the last years, especially on the CPU side. I want to replace my Skylake i5 build soon, mainly because I just want an upgrade after 5 years and the old PC will become my NAS then. I already have a 2060, so that is not a problem luckily. The PC should be a reasonable build, so not extremly budget but not over the top, my current plan is about 800 Euro. Below I have pasted my current plan from pcpartpicker, I would just be interested in opinions. I know I could also get a 11600k which may be faster in some aspects, but from looking at benchmarks it uses double the Power and doesn't really bring significant advantages. I will be using the PC for a lot of stuff: * Gaming: different games, some really easy to run like Rimworld or FTL but also more demanding things like FlightSim 2020. I rarely play new AAA Games. My Monitor is 1440p, maaaaybe some VR in the future but probably mostly Stuff like beat saber which runs standalone on the quest * Some Coding, Webdev and also C for microcontrollers, therefore also VMs sometimes * Light Video/Photo editing, Color grading etc. Nothing crazy. I also know that the new CPUs with DDR5 will be coming out probably this year, but my guess is that similar performance will be more expensive in the beginning (like it was with DDR4) especially with the current chip situation. I am located in Germany, so prices may be a bit different to the US, 5600x for example costs 310 Euro PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor (€333.99 @ Mindfactory) CPU Cooler: Alpenföhn Brocken 3 60.62 CFM CPU Cooler (€50.89 @ Caseking) Motherboard: ASRock B550M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard (€104.14 @ Computeruniverse) Memory: Crucial Ballistix 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory (€179.40 @ Amazon Deutschland) Storage: Crucial P5 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (€61.67 @ Amazon Deutschland) Case: Fractal Design Define Mini C MicroATX Mid Tower Case (€79.90 @ Amazon Deutschland) Power Supply: be quiet! Thanks in advance
  4. Hello, for Christmas, I finally want to get rid of my 19" 5:4 BenQ monitors, the are very dim and have horribly wrong colors. I will use it for a lot if things, Photo Editing (so good colors are important), Programming, and also light gaming (I don't play shooters, so I don't care about Refresh rate). Personally, I'm looking at something around 27" and probably 1440p. A Vesa mount would be very nice, I have a desk clamp with a VESA mount (both sizes) I know that I probably can't really game on 1440p with my 750Ti, but for Programming/Editing it will be enought, and a Upgrade is planned probably in Summer, there I will have more money. My Budget is around 200-300€ (or dollars, not that big difference). I hope I have provided enough Informations and hope that someone can give me some advice about a new Monitor.
  5. As far as I know the Titan XP chip is a bit locked down, in a new TESLA card it's fully unlocked
  6. OK...... why is it so slow? My tablet/convertible had the same CPU and it was actually pretty acceptable
  7. What do you think about the Acer TravelMate B115? Acer Travelmate B115-M-27KD 29,5 cm (11,6") 11,6 Zoll ComfyView HD Display 1,83 GHz Intel Celeron N2930 HD Webcam, two speakers 1 x HDMI Up to 7 hours battery (so I think about 5 hours realistic) Windows 8.1 Pro (Meh)
  8. Hello, I had a Medion PT2212T(2in1 convertible), but unfortanely the display shattered, and I don't think that a repair would be cheap, so I'm looking for a new laptop. I want: Long battery time (preferrably around 5 hours) (at light load , word, coding) around 500GB storage mostly Web surfing, coding and word should be able to handle games, Minecraft ran fine on my old one, the more games the better Fanless would be nice, but would sacrifice it for better performance 350€ in Germany EDIT: relatively small (11"-13") I hope someone has a suggestion, I actually don't need a convertible, because I rarely used my old one in tablet mode.
  9. Sooo... I currentyl have a NViDIA GT 640 in my nice and shiny skylake rig, soooo its kinda out of proportion. ;D
  10. Banned for watching Euro 2016 sponsored by Turkish Airlines, Coca Cola and at least 2 car companies.
  11. OHHH it would be cool in the basement, because we have a big wall but the room isn't that long, so it would be epic.
  12. All these fancy Keyboards... and I am using a Terra Keyboard which I got from my school when they got new PCs. It has a surprisingly good feedback for a Memebrand keyboard.
  13. Hello, I have a generic HP psu which worked perfectly for a while (I pulled it out of an old PC) but the sudddenly won't turn on and the Fa only spins for half a second and then turn off when I bridge green and black. Any Idea what Component is faulty? When it lived, the voltage was stable even under 200W load (300W psu), so i had 11,7 on the 12V rail, and it never dropped below that. And before you say anything, I KNOW that mains Voltage is dangerous and that you shouldn't open a PSU, but I've done it multiple times before, I don't want to hear your concerns I just would be glad if someone knew a solution. Thanks Tobi
  14. For the price of these you could get a Z170 Board. Just don't choose anything with "Gaming" in the name, most of the time it's just more expensive and has nearly no benefits(at least in this price cathegory). I have the Ausu Z170M-Plus and i'm very happy with it, and it's only 110€. (ca. 120USD)
  15. Looks good, I don't see any flaws, but I would go for 16 GB, if you have that much budget, but its not neccesary.
