Pi 4 hasn't got good enough software for using as an HTPC/media player yet IMO... it played a 60GB 4k movie OK for around 30 mins or so, but then started to lose sound sync, this is with libraelec from NOOBS version... and with newer beta libraeelc version it's worse than that, stutters, loses signal completely/blanks display even just on GUI.

It's not bad on raspbian, but again video isn't good enough yet. works well for most other things though that I tried. biggest disappointment so far is max res only 4k30, and that includes libraelec too...so not sure what's going on there as pi 4 should be 4k60 capable, and am using the official hdmi cable too.

So, gone back to shield for now for HTPC/media, using plex mostly, but switching to KODI for 4k viewing as it'll play anything, whereas plex suffers with issues transcoding.
