  1. 550W PSUS are generally not all that great, no matter the 80 Plus Gold sticker. For a Basic system without much power demands, yeah its fine. For a 3080? Yes its a Cheap shit PSU. Its a Basic 550 PSU, thats all it was really meant for. 3080 is well beyond the scope of what it was designed for. Go with hardware that it was actually designed for, ends up doing you better in the long run
  2. Dont put decent hardware on cheap shit PSU's. Its just not worth it. It can be dangerous, if you overload the wires they can easily fry and catch fire. Probably wont, but it isnt unheard of.
  3. Linux isnt anymore secure then windows 10 tbh. Everything comes with a pick your poison for OS. You are trusting you will get continued support from your distro of choice, and that isnt always a guaranteed thing.
  4. Goodluck. Linux is still far from being able to be used for mainstream use. You will begin your journey decided whether you want Arch, Debian, or one of their many forks. Two that are generally used are Ubunutu, Linux Mint, but there are tons more and honestly its just a mess. Could just use windows 10, wont have the AI crap.
  5. Do not recommend people to get that ram. You have to tinker beyond 6400, and that is well beyond the scope of what the vast majority of people will do. If they post they want to try it thats one thing, but you do not recommend something like that to just a normal user. Are some intel cpus capable? Yes, but not all, and that can be all it takes for them to not try this again. You should only recommend items that will work out of the box without an issue. Any sort of bios/tinkering with settings and you will have lost most people. Even getting XMP to be enabled can be pretty rough with some peps.
  6. 6000 Cl 30 is pretty much the only ram speed you should be getting for both Intel and AMD at this moment until memory controllers get better. If you just want a Plug in, press XMP and be done and know its gonna be stable
  7. VIA software yes, but its kind of a pain in the ass most of the time and more effort then its genuinely worth.
  8. Not worth it. They had a few QA issues that was reported and a few copy cats using their brand name.
  9. Honestly speaking, 5700x3d/5800x3D only makes sense to upgrade IF you are on Ryzen 2000/3000, not ryzen 5000 series cpus. GPU upgrade would do you much better, then if even that wasnt enough then do the CPU upgrade. Its a good bump for most games, but its not the leap as it was for those on the older cpus.
  10. i use the Glorious Mouse pads, i use XXL cause big desk. If you want an actual mouse pad designed for gaming and just just a meh deskpad like some others.
  11. Yes, you have to remember Bits and bytes are different. 1 Gigabit = 125 Megabyte. For the most part its going to be between 60-90 Megabyte per seecond download, with some of the better servers handling the full 100-125 Megabytes depending on traffic, usage in your area etc. 8 megabits = 1 Megabyte.
  12. Why exactly do you have a Cat 8? That is beyond pointless. Cat 5e can handle 2.5 gbps, Cat 6a 10, why did you go with 8? That itself can cause issues. Generally speaking 1 Gigabit internet= 80 Megabytes per second download speeds. it goes up to 120, but usually you are gonna be in the range of 60-85 Megabytes.
  13. Remove all of it, you dont need anything but windows defender. As long as you are not going on sketchy sites, using ad-block, and not opening emails from people you dont know, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. You dont need one besides the built in one If you are going on sketchy sites, i recommend using a Sandbox/Virtual machine, so that the main system isnt screwed over.
  14. Sum of components. 4060 for Video editing isnt too bad honestly, but with how much MORE a 4070 is, it doesnt exactly fit into the 1500$ budget with a 14900f. The prebuilt is more then likely going to thermal throttle hard, and with the cheap MOBO they will be using with it i dont expect longevity.
  15. Its not bad PRICE wise if you were to build a comparable system, just not something id recommend since they generally use the cheapest Motherboard, PSU and cooler they can.
  16. Most of them are sadly gimmicks and cannot and should not be trusted with your health in mind. If you need a watch that has a mechanical face/ticking, i would just get a normal mechanical watch. The ones that do actually have some of the better features and are a bit more accurate are more expensive then the sub $100 USD Market. You can see if you can get one used (A more recent Apple watch) but in the long run i often just would not trust the data on them to be very accurate. Also smart watches and also lasting 24 hours+ while in constant use generally is going to be only if they are fully charged that same day, some without the constant censors and checking can last longer but since you wanted one thats constantly checking, that does drain the battery.
  17. I would just have 4 separate drives like i mentioned above inside the PC. Upt o you whether or not you want to remove the M.2 to get additional storage via SATA ports. They max out at 4 TB, and are more then adequete for pictures and such. RAID is moreso a server thing rather then what youd use on a every day PC. Are there some people that still use it? Sure. In your case its not needed. If you have the one drive with them, a backup drive, An external drive, AND a cloud drive, you have enough failsafes at that point.
  18. Raid is pretty pointless on a gaming pc as mentioned before. If you just want redundancy, just get a backup SSD or an HDD if you want long term shelf storage of them. Raid 0 is ABSOLUTELY a no go, you do not do raid 0 as there is nothing to gain on NVME drives. Honestly speaking it just depends on how much storage you are actually using. How much space are all your photos taking up? Do you NEED that much space? Are you using X amount of storage space every month and that is enough wiggle room to last you a while or not so much?
  19. You lose one drive due to Parity, When you have 4 drives, 1 drive becomes the "fail safe" drive, where you can lose one drive in the event of a failure, you plug a new one in and it can rebuild the raid array. Often times RAID is pretty pointless on a gaming pc. It serves 0 purpose for most people. If it was a back up server or something like that, sure it makes sense. But for a Gaming pc, RAID makes very little sense at this point. You can just have the 4 drives, OS, Games, Video Files, and then a Back up Important files drive. Since you dont really need to backup the games ( only the local saves if you need to) that can just be its own drive. Videos/shows/movies etc as its own drive, and then a backup drive and misc for w/e other stuff. To answer your question, Can you create RAID 10 Via powershell, i dont recommend it as if you have to go in a round about way to create a RAID array, its more then likely going to fail on that end when a windows update bricks it, that happens a LOT more often then youd think.
  20. Its not harmful to creators. Your lunch break isnt worth the risk to the company for the thousandth of a cent you would make a creator. Dont waste your companies time, your IT departments time. It is simply not worth it. Ad block exists for a reason, and if you prevent the stupidity of most people from themselves and clicking on bad ads and links the better.
  21. https://www.walmart.com/ip/GIGABYTE-AORUS-FO27Q3-27-QD-OLED-Gaming-Monitor-QHD-2560x1440-360Hz-0-03ms-GTG-AMD-FreeSync-Premium-Pro-Type-C-KVM-HDMI-DP-Height-Adjustable-Black/5636707750?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101353918 Something like that. I havent seen any reviews on that specific one, but the QD OLED panels have been pretty popular and well reviewed.
  22. The pros use what they are use to. for your hardware id recommend 1440p 240hz/360hz and OLED if you can fit it into the budget. Much better detail and motion clarity. Its not worth it to buy a 1080p 360hz unless you can get a good quality one for like 200$ which is not really a thing.
  23. Raid 0 will not do that with two drives with different sizes. Just use the bigger drive if you want your C drive to be bigger, although i dont see the reason for it.
  24. What exactly is the goal? Raid 0 is absolutely pointless with the speeds of NVME drives, you dont get any noticeable gains from doing it. You can get a Gen4 NVME drive if you need speed since you have a b550 board. Raid 0 has pretty much become obsolete as it was intended for HDDs, not SSDS. What is your goal for this?
