  1. I don't have a Samsung, but it might be similar. When my mobile is connected to my PC then an option called "USB Preferences" shows up under "Connected Devices". Check those preferences, if they are there or somewhere else in your options, to see whether or not your phone is set to allow data transfer through USB. I just found out that this only shows up im my options if I'm connected to a PC via USB or if I specifically type it into the search box. Mildly infuriating.
  2. Do you want one monitor or multiple? Monitor, mouse and keyboard are preferential . Let's count, correct me, like 500$ for a decent monitor (cheapest 144hz 1440p i found was 450$) and about 200-300$ if you went for a better mouse+mechanical keyboard combo. Leaving 1900-2000$ for the pc.
  3. So it keeps starting up and shutting down? Try only one of the ram dimms at a time/or another one if you have one lying around. As firelighter said, check the cpu power connector. Also maybe check the user manual for the motherboard if you need to use a specific ram slot
  4. Thanks for the reply! Checked it out and found they have some neat stuff there but the switches are slightly more expensive and I would probably get them in a months time best case scenario.
  5. Hi folks! In short, is mechanicalkeyboards.com my best bet to order switches? Do you know of a store located in Europe, or maybe even Germany that sells these too? I kinda wonder because I know these things come from here, but I can't seem to find them being sold here if that makes sense. What I want to do is to "switch" out(haha, solder out) a couple of my keyboards switches, like 2 pieces, but I'll probably buy like 5-10. Change my black for brown ones in specific. I'm trying to reduce the shipping absurdity/cost of that order. Thanks!
  6. Ok, thank you guys! I'll be using the mobo and CPU I have lying around. one of the psus and a 1060. and the memory you recommended!
  7. Ok, and I do have a i5 4590 lying around. How does it compare to the i5 6500?
  8. On that note, you would recommend going with a Nvidia card on this budget?
  9. Hey guys! I'm building this for someone else. I have max 1000€ to work with, of which I need to spend about 150-200€ on a Monitor, which leaves me with 800€ for the PC. I'm aiming at pulling out the best performance for this budget, looks are a tertiary concern. What do you think about this? 10. As long as it doesnt hit the ceiling. 46°C is still relatively cool
  11. I would recommend a 240 SSD too. Also, 2x4GB instead of 1x8GB, you can do 4x4GB for a total 16GB in the future. 500W PSU makes it easier to use in the future if you will upgrade.
  12. You could probably go down with the RAM, go down with that Mobo, and get W10. If you are part of the W10-hate-train...then you have my sincerest condolences.

You can look into your BIOS to try lower your refresh rate and/or resolution.

Did you try different connections? DVI, VGA or HDMI? I would be looking through the options menu of the TV if yours has one. Did you try this? Found on Microsoft community forums, post by "Azeez N" | V Wait, I'll test something
  15. I could recommend a Corsair VS550 or a Coolermaster B500 (took a look on Irish retailer sites for pricing) Those are nice manufacturers, so you won't get your classic grey box with "PSU" written with red on it from those guys :^)
  16. Agree on the 500W PSU with ELSknutson. But it should be enough, 430W, if youre not doing anything else with it.
  17. if having a tower pc doesnt hinder you in any way then that would be the best way to go. Like Arwanell said, Laptops are very pricey and by experience i know that those heat up very easily. And If you want to run "the latest games" then I don't believe getting a Laptop for that purpose is even a half-decent choice, just because of the price.
  18. Whats you PSU? Did you try to measure how hot your rig gets while playing? You might be overheating.
  19. under the condition RaptorCandy pointed out: If this old version you have is an OEM version then you cannot use it. If not, you're golden. I think it should say on the sticker if it is an OEM version. Otherwise, if you could turn on your old PC, in the "System" under "System and Security" in the control panel is the product ID of the currently installed Windows Software. If it says "OEM" after the first row of digits, it's an OEM version.
  20. it should be on the chassis. somewhere on the exterior. you asking that could mean its not on there. sometimes the sticker isn't only pink. they may look similar to these:
  21. What makes me so interested in the ZBOX? I am very interested in these compact systems BUT what I have always experienced is the throttle these system suffer from caused by the heat these systems produce. On Desktops, heat is only a minor problem if youre not overclocking. On Laptops and more compact systems on the other hand this problem poses a hurdle on a whole new level because manufacturers try to fit better and better hardware in there. This comes with higher temperatures. So the only thing preventing people to go small case high performance is the lack of also small good cooling options. While I dont believe this is a revolutionary product I'd like to play around with it. It also could replace the horrible horrible system that my Samsung TV came with.
