I find this mildly entertaining

Just to explain the words I've used for those who don't know, Macs use command the way Windows uses control (copy, paste, etc.), a PC keyboard will send the command signal when you press the windows key, and, well, the position one should be fairly obvious (takes up that slot on the keyboard).

    It kind of makes sense though.  It's well known that option is just alt, they even write that on it, and control, well, that's control, so those two are already mapped.  That leaves the "OS-specific" key, which ever that happens to be.  In the case of PCs, that's Windows, and on a mac, it's the command key.  Linux also uses it but they don't have their own specially designed keyboards so it's just windows key also, unless you swap the key cap for your distro's logo :P
