  1. After a decade of being an intel fanboy it is finally happening...

  2. Thanks for clarifying what the topic is about. My take on this is basically that if you don't want to get spied on don't use electronics with an internet connection so I am not any more concerned about China spying than any other company/country/entity.
  3. None of this would affect the products on the shelves and still in stock right now though.
  4. What sorta effects you think it could have on existing products?
  5. Thank you. The non-upgradeable RAM is really the only downside I see with this thing and I am not quite sure if that really is excuseable. On the other hand for that price and formfactor I don't know. As for the problems with Huawei I hope that the only problem that could occur would be that just like with all the phone parts they are not allowed to put e.g. Windows on their future machines. If you buy a product in the shelfs now they better keep their licences. Thanks I'm going to have a look into the Flex lineup from Lenovo.
  6. Hey guys, as the title says I am curious in your opinions on the Huawei Matebook D 14" with the Ryzen 5 2500U CPU and Vega 8 graphics. It would fit my needs exactly as I think and I could get it for 500 € which would be roughly 560 $. Would that be a good deal or do you think there's better options for the same price? If you have suggestions please consider the following criteria which I require from a laptop: Keyboard backlight: I want to use it in the dark so kb backlight is important. 1920 x 1080 resolution screen: Mostly for full HD streaming. 8 GB of RAM: It needs to handle 10-15 Tabs in [insert browser] simultaneously. The smallest possible formfactor: This is going to be my on the go device so as light and small as 14" can be. It needs to get work done (office etc.) and have a fluent overall feeling. No really heavy workloads but if it can game a slight bit I won't be mad. Thanks iC®
  7. You might consider more RAM if it is for video editing. Don't forget a CPU cooler in case you don't have one yet.
  8. Finally got the two parts that were still missing for my dream build! The only thing left to do now is pray to god that this machine is going to last forever.

  9. I know my old one had some sort of OS in the BIOS but I am not sure if it works without a CPU. Think this was just for browsing the net without an OS or bootdrive.
  10. Haha completely forgot that. Wondering why you can still not boot a board without CPU. By now we should be that far.
  11. I don't know if you're going for a certain coloured build but I can recommend the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard. On the cheaper side and yet has everything you asked for. Problem would be red and black theme.
  12. There's always gonna be something worse somewhere. That is no justification for something being bad as it is.
  13. A good soundcard can make way more of a difference than 3.5mm vs USB surround headsets. Since you have a pretty good sound card I'd just get a decent 3.5mm one and you're good to go.
  14. I know that all too well. We've been taught so too hence why I still hold my fans when blowing them.
  15. He can blast the CPU fan too. If he wants to be sure not to damage anything he can just hold the blades and make sure it does not start turning. Other than that I recommend:

    Why don't you post anymore?

Got quite inactive recently. MIght be back though!
  17. Happy new year everyone!

  18. This is beautiful!! Wonderfully cable managed aswell. You're gonna have a lot of fun with it! Also there is nothing like a "too red" build.
  19. Also consider that if 2x 140s have a higher airflow you might be able to run them quiter than the 200mm fan for the same amount of air if it's good fans.
  20. So that people have something to fight about. Successfully as it seems.
  21. I feel you. Maybe look into the Acer Aspire V Nitro Series then as this is a rocksolid laptop should you be in need for a new one! And to contribute to your original topic for once: I also wish you all the best with your Desktop and building it. As previous posts already stated you will get addicted. I hope you have enough money saved for another 500 builds that might still not satisfy your addiction!
  22. That's interesting as I would only find the FE cards to fit in a very limited amount of builds. As for the look of MSI cards I think they've found a pretty good balance between "alien" looks without going over the top. For thermals I guess as long as you have a case with at least 3 fans any cooler design will work unless you have extreme circumstances.
  23. But then again with Graphics Cards it's also a lot about looks and MSI does this best for red imo.
