I'm selling my parts off to upgrade my motherboard and CPU. A really good friend of mine has been needing a cheap pc for his daughter so I'm giving him my motherboard and cpu for a cheap price. The person who the motherboard and CPU is for cares quite a bit about aesthetics and my motherboard (ASUS Maximus VIII Hero) comes with Aura lighting. Says so on the box and their website. I understand that when selling used you shouldn't care about looks as much. But its a friends youngish daughter. Trying to be a good friend you know. I never really bothered to change the lighting on the motherboard but decided to test it out for my friend. Only to realize that the motherboard is not even recognized by Aura. So, first, I call Asus and they tell me I have to email their technical support staff. They tell me that my motherboard does not even support it and in the same email give me some troubleshooting tips . Anyone else experienced something like this with ASUS support?

Use it for a long time. However, I would not want my CPU to be around 92 degrees at full load.

You might have to select one or the other. It doesn't just automatically detect.

Also, if you are using a different input for iGPU such as hdmi and then display port for GPU check what input your monitor is looking for.

Would it not plug directly into the PSU? What am I missing?

It's mainly the speed of the RAM that actually matters. If you have two sets of RAM with different speeds. Both sets will automatically default to the speed of the lowest set. Since, presumably, the type of memory is the same and the speed. It will not matter. Even if you use a different brand of memory all together.

As long as they are both ddr3 or 4 it will work just fine.

Yeah, dont forget the extra fittings you will need. The quick disconnect doesn't attach immediately to a gpu water cooler like yours. If you send them an email they will sort you right out. They helped me a bunch

Yeah! Get one from EKWB. They have a huge range. Edit: If I remember correctly. They have an MLC line which makes it literally plug and play watercooling.

Yep...Not 100% sure if it is accurate but task manager was telling me it was running at 2000. Now it is at 4000. I'm a moron.

I have same issue. Its a youtube thing. I am 99% sure. Goes away for me when I move my screen (not in fullscreen) obviously.

Hey LTT Community I haven't been following tech news for the last couple years. But, I feel like I need an upgrade for my CPU. Haven't done too much research but apparently nowdays CPU matters much more than it did a few years ago. Back then if it did not bottleneck you wouldn't get too much more performance even from the highest priced CPU's iirc. What would you recommend on a budget of around 1000 NZD. Current Rig 6600k OC to 5.1 Ghz 1080 SLI 750 G2 PSU All on a custom loop. Don't think there are too many more details. Let me know if anything is really worth the money. Thanks!
