  1. To add to this, I think it also disables all Nvidia exclusive features making this setup completely useless.
  2. Now EVGA has their hands in all aspects of PC systems with the exception of HDD, SSD and disk drives.
  3. Hey cool, I'm using something similar to that as a coaster right now!
  4. I'm having a similar issue with my 760 but the issue doesn't sound as severe as yours. My issue is only happening in GTA V as well and seems to be associated with light (driving past a bright light at night time can cause artifacting almost on command). I've found that actually pulling back the clock speed helps in my case. I pull it back by 5 MHz and the issue goes away.
  5. We don't know anything about the voltage of the batteries. We also don't know what kind of battery you are using. Different types require very different charging methods.
  6. I have an i3-4150 in a computer with a GTX 750 and it can run GTA no problem, you just need to pull back some of the graphics settings. Don't know about ark survival, I've never played it.
  7. You only need to worry about the oil. Do some research and see if your compressor is an oil free compressor. I use my compressor all the time and have never once had an issue with moisture and I live in a very humid climate in the summer. As long as your components are not below dew point then there is no issue, even then you only need to wait for it to dry.
  8. I finally got around to fixing my anime list. The background was broken so it wasn't shuffling. I discovered that the website that was hosting the 3 images that got shuffled is offline for some reason. Found a different one that allows me to use more than 3 images (so I abused the shit out of it). I also took care of that pesky list color. The orange didn't really go well with a lot of the backgrounds. It didn't really match the 3 backgrounds I had before either but I didn't want a dull grey color like I have now... sadly it's the only one that really works.
  9. It really doesn't matter, I think that the higher alcohol concentration makes it easier to remove the thermal paste. If it comes down to it you can use soap and water but be prepared to scrub (not the easiest but much more cost effective IMO). Not entirely sure I would use soap and water on the actual CPU though, just a cooler. Acetone is also a very effective way of removing thermal paste.
  10. That should wok just fine, I think I was using 80% alcohol to clean my system.
  11. That one is serious overkill, like I said it was bought for while we were redoing the roof and there were a lot of people using nail guns. The small portable one just couldn't keep up with even one of them.
  12. No, it's an oil free compressor that was originally bought when we were replacing our roof and needed more air for all the nailguns. If I let it fill all the way up I could easily clean 6 or 7 computers before I would need to turn it back on. Link to the overkill monster.
  13. You are getting a much better deal with the i3 system and it will perform better as well. You are getting more RAM, more CPU threads and an actual graphics card (even if it's an older one). I would take the i3 system in a heartbeat and you can always sell certain parts of the system to try and upgrade (such as the monitor and GPU), though the GTX 650 shouldn't be too much of an issue if the monitor is not full HD.
  14. 950 is the better investment. Get a cheaper processor and motherboard and save some money.
  15. There is usually nothing wrong with it, it just needs to be moved around with a tongue depressor so it's not too thin. Remembering that I'm too poor to even afford thermal paste I make that shit last for as long as I can.
  16. Do you have a fan on the front and back of the case? It looks like if you are using the fans that came with the case you can swap out the rear fan for a slightly larger one. It looks like an 80mm or 90mm fan that comes with it, might want to invest in a slightly larger one. Also see if you can grab a couple of fans to ziptie to that side pannel, might make it dusty but couldn't hurt. I only quickly skimmed this thread but I think I saw you say that you are using the stock cooler, might want to invest in one from the list below. I would recommend all of them with the exception of the Cooler Master DK9-7G52A-0L-GP as it is basically the stock heat sink. http://pcpartpicker.com/products/cpu-cooler/#m=337,50,11,436,225,99,94&W=0&sort=a6&page=1&X=1502,18463 As was also mentioned, AMDs temp sensors are not the most reliable so it is entirely possible that they are giving you a false reading as well.
  17. I have a 50 gallon air compressor that helps get a lot of the dust out. Usually it gets the computer clean enough that I only need to use it once every 3 months or so. About once a year I do a full system tear down and remove everything from the case. Dust filters heat sinks and fan fins get cleaned with water and sometimes soap. Fresh thermal paste is applied where it's needed, a lot of times I can scrape most of it off the heat sinks and put it back onto the GPU or CPU. Even the power supply gets opened up and cleaned inside (but not with water).
  18. He only has FXAA on and MSAA is off. On top of that he has is frame scaling set to 1/2 which is rendering the scene at half of 1080P resolution and up-scaling it to fit his monitor. This amplifies the jagged edges from no AA. Frame scaling should be set to 1 or higher.
  19. You're going to have to help me out a bit, all of those screen shots look normal to me.
  20. So we put air bubbles in... then we squeeze them out... Why don't we just squeeze out the air bubbles from the start?
  21. Anything from Intel's Skylake family will be just fine with the IGPU. Even their Haswell family will be enough for 1080p video. A Pentium should be plenty even for in home streaming but if you plan on doing other things in the background like music I would consider an i3.

    Fans?

It defiantly needs more cooling, I've attached some images of what I would recommend... Just kidding, it's probably fine.
  23. I've been looking at making the family system in the living room VR capable for a while now but it's hard to justify spending over $1000 to make it VR ready. Now I it will make it easier to upgrade the system for VR. Even if I don't choose the 480 (most likely will) a lot of other cards should come down in price. My family system is using NVidia right now which I'm kind of hesitant to get rid of because of shadow play but I was the only one using it anyway and my personal rig has a 760. I'm going to wait until we hear more from reviewers before I make a decision though. I'm not going to run out launch day and buy it.
  24. It kind of depends. Your NUCs hardware is powerful enough but it will also depend on your router. -Is it going to be using wireless or etherent? -If wireless, are there any other devices that will be fighting for bandwith? -What kind of settings and resolutions do you plan on running? 1080p or even 1440p streaming should be no problem. 4K might be a bit of an issue but your main system won't be reaching that res.
  25. Had a similar issue with the game on the i3 system, assumed it was because it was a dual core but was confused because it would run on a Pentium D. I honestly don't play the game enough to know what could be wrong.
