  1. If screen tearing bothers you a lot then get it I on the other hand find that it barely happens even on games where my framerate far surpasses the refresh rate on my screen... there was a game though where I noticed terrible screen tearing, heroes of the storm I think...
  2. Well that's true and false IMO... for example my SZ1000 (which are headphones pretty much only for bass) without an amp I can't do anything with them, I crank 10-20hz frequencies up to +5db and they immedeatly die and can't produce anything decent distorting very easily... on the other hand with an amp I can pump the same frequencies up to +20db and they maintain themselves without dying or distorting... so don't tell me an amp ONLY increases volume in a sense where an amp only serves to hear music louder...
  3. Well I'm talking when I connect them straight to the mobo... it just sounds dull for some reason unlike with the amp. I'm not gonna lie though, they do sound pretty good (without an amp) when I connected them to my parents tablet... just not loud enough but that's the only time where they actually sounded similiar to what they sound like with an amp
  4. uhm... no. I've tried the dt990 pro 250ohms without amp on various sources and it just sounded weak... I mean the soundstage and all was there but they weren't reaching the frequencies that are expected... with an amp on the other hand the sound is richer (and louder ofc)... without an amp you can barely reach 20hz before the headphones giving up already ... so my guess for saying that is that you never tried the 990's with an amp, otherwise I'm sure you would differ your opinion
  5. well... it's true :\ care to explain? I'm talking about the dt990 pro 250ohm versions... the 600ohm versions do need an amp aswell... so either you're wrong or you're talking about the 80ohm versions
  6. for gaming, rendering, working? If your focus is gaming go with the i5
  7. do you have an amp? you mentioned the schiit stack so I'm guessing you have... because to enjoy the DT990 to the fullest you NEED an amp. On the other hand, these are incredible, they have a nice V shaped signature (they can be a little too bright in some situations) but the soundstage is truly nice and suprisingly they have pretty good bass unlike most open headphones
  8. ehm some headphones do have 5.1 (yeah they actually have 5 little speakers in them)... can't really specifiy which ones but I think razer had ones that had 5 speakers(tiamat I think).. anyway I'd avoid them... 5.1 surround is nice and all for gaming but the tiny speakers will limit your experience with movies and music A LOT... go with some nice stereo headphones and If you really want surround sound just buy one of those cheap dacs that simulate 5.1 or see if your soundcard is capable of doing that as nowadays most mobos can handle that tbh (or just check if the headphones itself have virtual surround system integrated ) as to headphones recomendation, I'd go with some closed headphones as you seem to want nice bass... you have v-moda's m100 which are nice but audio-tecnica's m50 do have a nice sound signature aswell... they are a bit above your price range though inside your price range I'd take a look at the creative aurvana, nice bass and the sound itself is not bad at all, if you can try them out, do it as my opinion can differ from yours when you actually experience them
  9. People achieved 100+fps with a r290x at max settings so those specs are pretty inaccurate... dunno what EA was thinking
  10. Looking for something that'll really push your PC well... I know there are a lot of demanding games but most of them are just badly optimize (like unity for example) and I can't seem to find something well optimized but that at the same is really requiring with everything maxed up EDIT: Games I already tested - Witcher 3 - Crysis 3 - Far Cry 4
  11. I doubt nvidia will suddenly lose "perfomance" because of that... look at fable legends benchmark, even at dx12, 980ti is still in the lead. Guess it's way too soon to tell
  12. Yap, strange thing is it happened today again... As of now I'm 100% sure it's a false reading but strange seeing it happen twice
  13. Just wondering if it possible to see the diffrence between a monitor with a 900:1 CR and a monitor with 1100:1 CR
  14. It was only at that temp for one second But yeah based on the comments seems like a false reading, would be strange if it actually reached that temp
  15. Is this even possible? I'm using CPUID and I know this is probably just a bug or something as normally they are around 25-30Cº... what's funnier is it seems BOTH reached that temperature
  16. I've been seeing a lot of people saying that buying a GPU is like a lottery sale when it comes to overclocking but how does one see if the GPU is indeed a good overclocker or not?
  17. Static pressure it is, thanks for the help
  18. I have a 412S and I plan to change the fan, now the issue is which type of fan should I go for? I know it's a 120mm fan but should I go for a SP or a AF fan? From the research I did seems like CP fans are suposed to be for heatsinks and radiators so I'm guessing that's the best choice?
  19. Thanks never really ocured to me to do that as I was starting to get a bit annoyed whenever I didn't recieve a notification unless someone quoted me on my topics
  20. Hey guys I have a Cooler Master 412S which is very similiar to the 212 Evo and I'd like the change the fan on the cooler... is it possible or advisable? If so please help me as I opened the case and I have no idea how to take it out
  21. Hmm either the sensor is faulty or must be a software problem then... gotta try it out with another program
  22. Room ambient temp is around 20 aswell..although I haven't gotten to a really hot day to see if the sensors are indeed faulty
  23. seems like these are indeed good temps, great to know as I was a bit worried since I'm not using watercooling that the temps might be a bit high (I'm from portugal and temps can get hot sometimes) I used both the bios temp monitor and CPUID
