  1. I'm really quite lost here - not even the slightest idea?
  2. Hi guys, I built a PC for my brother with the following specs: CPU: Intel i5 2500K MB: ASUS P8H61-M EVO (Bios Version 4061) PSU: EVGA ATX 2.3 500W (100-W1-0500-KR) Case: Fractal Design Core RAM: Single 8GB Stick by A-Data GPU: Zotac GTX560 OC Unfortunately, it does have some very weird issues. At times, it randomly shuts down (happened at idle). Other times, it simply won't turn on. The LED on the motherboard is green, the Power Supply works and also the case button / switch for power on is working fine. First I thought this might be a PSU issue, however I ran load test (CPU and GPU at max load) and everything ran fine (temps were also OK). Also, I checked that all connections are as good as possible. Next I checked for newer BIOS revision, however I am already running the newest version (4061). Finally, I even swapped the BIOS Battery on the board. When this happens, all BIOS settings are reset. After I get the PC working again, I get the message to "Press F1 to recover BIOS settings". Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT So I finally found the issue: I had given up all hope and ordered a different motherboard. Upon swapping out the CPU from the old board to the new one I noticed all small irregularity on the socket. Having a closer look at the socket revealed that one of the Pins (or springs) was slightly bent, another one was totally bent. With a lot of patience (and the right tools) I managed to fix those pins. Now the motherboard (and CPU) are running perfectly fine. I guess whenever the PC tried to access a specific function of the CPU, there was either a shortage or no contact at all, resulting in a crash. TL;DR Fixed the issue by repositioning the bent pins on the socket.
  3. Even though a lot of people complain about Zotac, I never had any issue with my Zotac GTX560 OC. These cards look really badass.
  4. If I remember it correctly, I subscribed to LinusTechTips when Linus did his Shower Unboxing http://youtu.be/lqs5HNdxjeU
  5. Hi everyone, I'm currently looking for a new HDD, because my old one is getting rather loud and small. I do already own a SSD (using it as my boot device). The HDD will be used to store videos, music, pictures, large games, downloads etc. Weekly writes probably will be around 5 GB, not much more than that. I have two questions: 1. Which HDD series by which manufacturer should I choose? (WD Blue / Red / Green; Seagate ... ) 2. 2TB are pretty liable. How about 3 / 4 TB drives? Does anyone have personal experiences? Looking for recommendations! :-)

  10. I think I heard of CUDAMiner recently, therfore NVIDIA Cards should have something to do from now on
  11. Hi guys, I have just noticed that the Handgun Shortcut for Battlefield 4 is currently 100% on sale on Origin - therefore it costs 0 $ / € ... You can even "buy" it when you do not own BF4, in case you might want to get it later on. Have fun! EDIT: Just log in to Origin, go to Store, search for "Battlefield 4" and look for "Handgun Shortcut" Due to Origins immediate redirecting, I can only post the link to the german site: https://www.origin.com/de-de/store/buy/battlefield-4/pc-download/addon/battlefield-4-handgun-shortcut-kit-ANW.html
  12. Guys, I know what video editing is. I was asking for this: Gonna try Avidemux then.
  13. Hi guys, I'm currently searching for a programm which can CUT (certain parts out of) videos. The use case scenario is the following: I'm using NVIDIA's ShodowPlay (in Shadow Mode) to save the last 5 Minutes of game footage I've just played. But actually I mostly only need the last 30-60 seconds. Does anyone of you know a programm with which I can extract these parts without having to re-encode the video and therefore losing quality? OS: Linux / W8 Thanks in advance for all suggestions!
