  1. Don't know about that. In The Netherlands it is starting to boom again. Lots of young kids are car spotting at overpasses when the weather is nice, we got some big events throughout the year with a mega new one launching this summer! Check this out: (It's in Dutch) https://utrecht.day1worldofcars.com/
  2. Care to explain why that stopped you going for drives? The only way to stop me from going for drives is drain my bankaccount and burn my car. That or clog every last road with heavy traffic. But that's me.
  3. I love that this man and his team make these, it has to be a crazy good driving experience.
  4. You're right! Somehow it stuck in my head that all 1.6s where Prince engines but that's impossible because 2006 is the first year they became available if I recall correctly.
  5. No, same block. One's supercharged, one's turbocharged. The 1.6 THP was available as N/A, supercharged and turbocharged versions. Sure, if you swap the supercharged one with a turbocharged version you'll need a different intake and exhaust but engine size won't differ much and mounting points for engine and gearbox should be the same. Was wrong, R53 has Tritec engine, thx @iDeFecZx
  6. Fun car, engine can give you trouble though. It's an early THP 1.6 Prince engine (Peugeot & BMW). Had some issues (carbonized valves due to direct injection and timing chain often fails) that were mostly solved in the later versions of that engine (2014 and on should be better). Don't know if there are other common issues with the R53. They are very enjoying to drive, especially on twisty backroads. If you're planning on swapping the engine: the e-THP 270 (EP6FDTR/EP6CDTR) is a Peugeot Sport version of the engine, turbocharged and pushing out around 270 bhp and 330 Nm torque. Has Mahle forged pistons, better crank, different head design and extra oil squirters for cooling. Kept it a 1.6 L, 170 bhp/L from factory . Was used in the 308 GTi and RCZ R. Super nice engine. A used one will set you back €3000-5000. If you can find one.
  7. I'm glad Toyota and Subaru still make nice cars. So many people where shitting on the Toyobaru (it being slow, torque dip, etc.). The car was made as a daily drivable backroad hooner. Not a cheap supercar.
  8. Don't you guys get the Yaris GRMN or the new GR Yaris (photo)? Those are cool new Toyotas. They're also planning a wagon with a similar setup as the GR Yaris. GR Yaris: 192 kW / 261 DIN HP 360 Nm / 266 lb-ft 1.6 L 3-cylinder GR-FOUR AWD (both front and rear bias are available) Optional Torsen diff front and back 1280 kg / 2821 lbs MANUAL gearbox
  9. Ah yes, good tyres for not so modern sized wheels can be a pain in the butt. On my TF I need 195/45 R16 up front and 215/40 R16 at the back. Only decent tyre I could find were Toyo TR1s (not to be confused with and successor of the T1R)
  10. mmmmmmmmmmmmmph? Does that stand for many many many many many many many many many many many many miles per hour? It's a sexy car though...
  11. @RTX 3090 Because they're more or less forced upon us. I like em, but nothing beats a RWD lightweight manual for me
  12. How about a job so you could pay for it yourself?
  13. Swap the fans to check if that particular fan is faulty.
