  1. This link implies that you can get 128GB on a Haswell-E Skylake - is that not officially supported?
  2. Well, that answered my question. Thanks. This wasn't really a question as in what can I use, so much as how long will this standard be able to last - based on djdwosk97's response you could have 4tb of DDR4 memory in a single system - in theory.
  3. You definitely can't go down from iOS 7, 8 or 9 to an earlier version. I know, because I tried. Many times. Also, it really depends on the app when it comes to running old versions. Any app that never had an iOS 6 version will not work, and some that did will also not work. Sorry
  4. Hey, I was wondering what the maximum amount of DDR4 RAM you can have on a single DIMM. As far as I can tell, the largest you can buy are 16gb kits, which on X99 allow for 128gb of RAM. However, I was wondering if this is a limit of the DDR4 standard or current manufacturing limitations - can we expect 32gb or even 64gb of ram per DIMM with DDR4?
  5. Given that you can't buy a 4gb 390, I'd guess it's a typo - he probably meant a 380, which makes more sense than a 960 4gb in any case
  6. I think he used hard tubing for the rest, but I could be wrong
  7. The frame is hollow, so he pushed flexible tubing through. This is a brilliant idea - followed.
  8. Why do you want to overclock your laptop's CPU? And I doubt that it is possible anyway.
  9. I am looking for an opaque keyboard cover for my Macbook Pro Retina, without any markings on it for the letters or modifiers. I am going for the blank keyboard aesthetic. I found this, but it has some obnoxious branding on the space bar. Does anybody know of any alternatives?
  10. They are international standards.
  11. Ah, that makes sense. I was considering this mouse, but I assumed that the weight was the average (say with 2-3 weights in)
  12. I thought the point of the G502 was to be able to adjust the weight? (as well as just being a good mouse)
  13. The Ti version has a different, faster GPU and 50% more VRAM. As such, a 'slower' 980ti (lower clocks) will still greatly outperform a GTX 980. Also, advertised clock speeds are unreliable, as the card usually runs much faster. Luke has a video on this.
  14. It is about equivalent to a fury. But don't rely on it's performance.
  15. Yes, you can use other graphics card instead of, (or in some cases in conjunction with) the integrated graphics.
  16. In that case, what is the rest of your build? and what are you planning to use it for?
  17. At the moment only the 1151 chipsets support Intel's thunderbolt controller, as AMD hasn't released a new chipset in a while and the X99 chipset has just had its round of updates, mostly with usb 3.1 but no thunderbolt. No faster 1151 cpus will come out until late this year / early next year.
  18. The biggest difference between those two chips is that one has six, slower cores and the other has four, faster cores on a newer architecture. However, if you are looking at those two specifically, then assuming that you are planning on overclocking is a reasonable guess, and they both have similar overclocked single-threaded performance with adequate cooling. However, there is a very substantial price premium for the 5930k over its little brother the 5820k, which has similar overclocked performance albeit fewer pci-e lanes.
  19. If you have access to woodworking tools, then it can definitely be done to look professionally. You will likely need some help to get started though.
  20. Looked into this myself - unless you are handy enough to do it yourself (which I am not), then it can be upwards of $300 for a single case.
  21. Think it would look good, might be hard to explain to friends / relatives what it is. Be prepared for the 'omg such a waste' response.
