  1. Not off the top of my head as I am at work and not at home with the PC
  2. Main reason for the upgrade is that the PC was built in 2018 which makes it some 7 years old and would like to upgrade a bit for the next 7 to 10 years
  3. Cooler is a Corsair AIO with 240 Rad (Not sure of the exact model) Primary Storage is a 1 TB WD NVME Drive and a few other SSD drives that are just storage PSU is a 850 gold EVGA I am thinking I should be good with keeping these items as part of the upgrade.
  4. Budget (including currency): 1500.00 CDN Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: BG3, Photo and video editing, a few other games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My Current build is a 8700K, with 32 GB 3200 DDR4 Ram and a 1080ti These are the 3 items I am thinking of upgrading along with the Motherboard if I move to AMD and looking for suggestions as to what would be a good upgrade. Looking for ideas on this and would like a few ideas before making a final decision. Thank you
  5. Ok I have my IT Department stumped so now it is time to go to the real pros, the LTT forums. I have to use Skype for business for work but as time went by the images that people had diminished and degraded, they are now just a pixilated mess, where there should be a high rez picture. I have looked into the original image and it is fine, Sharp and everything. The IT department looked into everything, network, System issue and a number of other things but still it is a pixilated mess. To give you an idea of how this is take any 480P image and now put it as a desktop on any 1080p or 1440 p monitor and you will see what i am talking about. If anyone has a fix for this .. that would be great .. Thanks
  6. Well here I was thinking that it would be nice to have the Lambo Coffee over the holidays .... yes you read that right ... I placed the order on the 5th of December, was told it would be delayed till after the 28th of December and found out it was not even shipped till the 9th of January, Starting to think i should just cancel the thing as it will be between 6-8 weeks since the order was placed to receive it. I know there were some issues with the printing of the packaging .. honestly if it came in a brown bag I would have been happy to receive it. I am very disappointed in Madrinas Coffee right now ... I also think it is Bad for LTT (who is based in Surrey) to be dealing with US based locations that know it will cost more to get anything delivered over the border as well as CDN exchange to USD. I can say that based on how this went ... I will not be ordering from them again.
  7. I hope I can turn to the community and get some help in this issue. I have had the IT people where I work stumped and figure I should turn to the Pros. The image below should give you an idea of what is happening. Yes more or less the display is creating 2 sections of the same display on the one. Here is the set up in a nutshell - I use a laptop and 2 monitors at work. Monitor 1 is the laptop display, Monitor 2 is the primary monitor and monitor 3 is the secondary. The issue only happens on monitor 2. Monitor 2 is connected using a Type C to VGA adapter. But the issue continues to happen and it is very annoying. So far I have, swapped the monitor, changed the Adapter, changed the VGA Cable, Updated drivers, updated Bios. And yet the issue keeps happening on a random basis. Yes it happens on its own and I am not able to directly recreate the issue. This display issue can happen on either the left side or right (more common on the right) and the size can vary from very thin (like the width of the border of the file explorer window) to one about 2-2.5 inches across. If anyone has a thought or suggestion .. let me know .. Thank you in advance
  8. This system will be more of a multi tool It will need to push to a 1440p ultrawide monitor (possibly 2), I do game, I like nice bench marking scores. I would like to do some moderate over clocking (not the 5ghz that I have heard but maybe more the 4.5 level) Think of a Jack of all trades and a Near master of none
  9. I am looking to do a very nice build in the near future and would like a bit of input. Price .. Well that is a bit open, lets say 2-4K (CDN Funds) I would like to try to buy local so places like Mikes Computer store or Memory Express would be a good place. I am looking at a build around a i7-8700K but could go for a Ryzen 2700 if sold on the idea It also should have a 1080ti Yes this is overkill .. but it is part future proof and part able to do anything I throw at it. Lets see what you can do with that ... thanks for the input
  10. Well that would be up to the team to decide who they want. Maybe have a division under LTT called LNN ... Linus News Network FYI .. I liked Barrett
  11. I think LTT should take over the hole that has been created in a lack of Daily Tech News. Even if they do bring on Keys or Jack ... There is a need for the information ..
  12. A bump to attract more interest
  13. The General Challenge would be to have the person pick a game of thier choosing, only one game, then play that for the time frame. As for the day, Extra Credits i think will do it on the weekend of the time change, but this year that winds up landing on halloween. I was thinking of the week or two after that. Start at say 10 Am or Noon Saturday and go till 11 Am or 1 pm (PST) or wherever the timezone is where you are (total of 25 hours) Last year I had a co worker collect for me so that no one thought I was doing it for just me. So you may need to elist at least one person to help you collect funds.
  14. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes. As many of you know Extra Credits does a fund raising event for Childern's hospitals every year. Well Last year i decided that through work I would do my own Gaming marathon for 24 hours to raise money for The BC Cancer Foundation. I managed almost 400.00. This year I would like to include more people and see about raising more money for the BC Cancer Foundation. Now the first question I get is Why BC Cancer? The answer is because of my Mother. In early 2012 she was diagnosed with late stage 3 ovarian cancer. Sad to say she lost her fight with cancer on June 30th of this year. I wanted to see if others would accept the challenge and raise money with me this year. last year I played Wow for 24 hours. This year I may do the do the same but I will start at level one and just keep going till the end and see where I finish in 24 hours. I have not worked out a lot of the details yet but I want to see who would be interested or find out if there are others who have done this and get more ideas or assistance in either planning or fundraising. Hope to get a lot involved and raise lots for a worthy cause. Thanks
