  1. You'll need a hot air solder rework station due to there being 4 legs a side. I'm sure you could find a professional that would be willing to carry out the work for you as with the skills and equipment that's a very quick and easy thing to do. However, if it is a voltage controller as @Mel0nMansaid, then you'll need to consider the fact that it may have damaged other components further down the track, or indeed damaged the track itself, its also possible that while that's the part you can see burnt out, its not the cause meaning it'll just happen again if you replace it. Personally given the price of GPU's right now, I'd order a replacement part, find a friendly repair shop willing to carry out the work for you and then hope it fixes the card.
  2. You might, it depends when the motherboard was manufactured. I'm fairly sure your motherboard supports CPUless bios updates though so nothing to worry about.
  3. Yeh you'd be wrong, go play single player and look at what FPS you get. GTA 5's multiplayer is a total joke.
  4. are you getting 50-60 fps on single player or multiplayer?
  5. Sounds like a dodgy install, I'd suggest just reinstalling windows.
  6. "but only get messages from miners" I get you're trying to the good thing and sell it someone who will actually use it for gaming, but my point was simply if he wanted to he could sell it, which you have kinda reinforced.
  7. Having watched the filling part of the video, the loop doesn't have a reservoir, so they used one to assist in filling the loop and then disconnected it once the loop was full.
  8. I haven't watched the video, but if you look at one of the radiators you'll see a big black block at the bottom, that's the pump.
  9. 100% fan speed, more airflow over the cards, and undervolt them as much as possible. Don't know where you heard this thermal pad rubbish from but unless you're replacing the cooler, changing pads will make things worse, not better.
  10. if you paid retail for it you'll still get over what you paid for it.
  11. Just buy it and sell the 1660? you'll easily get what you paid for it back.
  12. Bad time to get a computer with an upgrade path. Zen4 will likely be DDR5 with no backwards compatibility on motherboards, meaning the 5xxx series will be the only upgrade your motherboard will support, and intel is no better.
  13. why on earth are you spending more or less the value of the pc on a monitor?
  14. Your GPU and that's it, you may also need to find the m.2 screws that came with your mobo or buy one.
  15. And you're saying you got it post originally?
  16. This would imply that it's a GPU related issues, if you have monitor speakers I'd run the audio through there and see if when you lose video signal you also lose audio.
  17. Just install all the drives straight away, you'll want to set up the Raid one in BIOS not windows. AMD's raid utility is pretty shitty, but windows is far worse.
  18. Does your audio come through a headset or through monitor speakers?
  19. Not really I'm afraid, I believe you can run MSI afterburner on USB however (and assuming you can store the config file, and have it automatically make the edits to the registry when you plug the USB in and run afterburner) it would be a lot faster?
  20. You'd need to give the new drive the same assigned letter as the one your transferring from. Plug them both in, transfer the data across, remove the old drive and then delete the original drives designation which will then allow you to assign the new drive the old drives designation.
  21. I shall leave this here. GTX 770 Bios flash gone wrong looking for advice - Graphics Cards - Linus Tech Tips Bios flashing (And modifying a BIOS even more so) is much harder than BIOS flashing a mobo. With pretty much no way to fix the card if you brick the bios without being able to track down a spare BIOS chip and knowing how to rework SMC's.
  22. I took a look on eBay but couldn't find a single Ryzen chip with missing pins for sale. You could try selling it as in on eBay, there's a slim chance enough people have seen Linus's videos and are looking out for CPU's to buy and would be willing to pay $100 or so for it. But that seems pretty unlikely. Personally I agree with what the people above are saying, ideally try and find someone or somewhere that has an SMD reword station you can use. Buy some used pins off eBay and give it your best shot, I wouldn't want to sell the CPU if it was me because IDK how long that sort of rework will last.
  23. 30k what? Do you care about anything other than the phone being smooth and responsive?
