  1. Resolution is 1920x1080 60fps he plays games like Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Civ 5. EDIT: He might want to play more graphically intensive games at some point so some extra punch should come in handy there.
  2. Hi I'm helping my friend build a gaming rig with a budget of 900 to 1200€ and since it's been a while since I built my rig I wanted to ask about the best CPU and GPU for the budget. First, is an i5 6500 (he isn't much of a techie so prob no need for OC) enough for the rig, or should it be upped to an i5 6600 with a price difference of 45€? Or would an i3 suffice? If yes, which one? Second, what's the situation with graphics cards currently with the RX 480, 1070 and 1060? Since it's mainly a gaming rig the GPU is the first priority within the budget. I apologise for the simple questions but I'm currently a bit stretched for time and don't have too much of it to spend on research. Any insight is appreciated, thanks!
  3. AMD usually for the better price/performance, but now since I'm on the highest-end I use Nvidia.
  4. Hah, well now I feel a little bad but yes, PC parts here cost anywhere from 20% to even 60% more than they do in the States so it definitely would have been worth much less there. Guess I'm a better salesman than I give myself credit for. Not really, my new rig cost me over $2500.
  5. I recently sold my old rig for 700€ or about $800. I'm curious as to whether I got the better deal out of it. It was 3-4 years old. Specs are below. Core i7 3770K Sapphire 7970 GHz Vapor-X Asus Z77-V LX Antec EarthWatts 500W WD 1TB Green I apologise if the thread is in the wrong section, I couldn't really think of any other subforum for it.
  6. They usually are already at the optimal places in the case. You needn't move them.
  7. It's weird if you don't do that.
  8. This thing sitting on my desk is my dream build.
  9. If I'm eating chips, which I rarely do, I just splurge on some cheap-o salt chips and get some garlic sour cream dip. Who cares what the chips taste like when you have glorious garlic sour cream dip. I could eat paper with that.
  10. Working retail. Why is it so bad?

  11. I believe it's caused, at least partly, by central banks pumping cheap money into economies due to the recession. Until a short while back the US was about the only one doing it, that's why USD was so weak compared to other currencies. But yeah, bye bye cheap exports. Here everything is stupid expensive even without a cheap dollar so I know your pain OP.
  12. Something like an R9 380 or a GTX 950 should be perfect.
