  1. Turns out the fix was quite simple. Just better cooling. Once the gpu reached 97 degrees it locked the core speed to 501 MHZ and to get it running back to normal I had to disable and re-enable video drivers. The only thing that stays mystery is why the gpu didn't unlock the core speed once it cooled down again.
  2. Hi Basically I noticed a huge frame drop on fortnite after playing a bit. Usually I get like 120-200 fps and after playing like some time (not constant, seems to happen at random times) the frames drop to unplayable 40 fps. I'm pretty sure the gpu core clock has something to do with it. Since I'm running a 7970 ghz edition it's core clock should be 1000. But if I had afterburner and gpuz opened, both told me that whenever my frames dropped to 40 the core clock also dropped to 501 mhz and it never goes back up again. I've tried uninstalling msi afterburner and reinstalling video drivers. I've also tried messing around with different game settings but nothing seems to work as of now. I don't understand how the core clock can be locked at such a low speed, is it thermal throttling (the thermals get up to 97 degrees and it's locked at 100% usage) or something else? Tweaking the clock speed in afterburner also doesn't make a difference (the actual clock speed doesn't change regardless of what I'm setting it to). Any information would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
  3. I love that slow mo feature and camera overall on that thing
  4. Current PSU is Super Power 650W, I don't know maybe this is somewhat reliable, but I have never heard of it and didn't find much on google. So you're saying I should get a new one as soon as possible?
  5. It hasn't done any funny stuff so far, so I'd say that will do, but just as long as I will get money for a new PSU I want to know if there are some easy methods I can use to get that GPU working.
  6. So I'm quite a beginner on computers - just throwing it out there. I just bought my friend a 7970 (cause I had one and it's great for the value). Then I realised that he had a random power supply that only had 2x 6pin connectors when the card requires 1 six and 1 eight pin connector. My question is, do I need to get a new PSU or can I just get some adapters (something like molex to 8pin?) Can that work? I could get one bequiet 700W PSU for 45€, so it can also be a choice since the current one is from a random manufacturer and not very reliable. (English isn't my first language)
  7. Username: karl7 Two videos: First one was the Titan X 5K gaming which I really enjoyed - https://www.vessel.com/videos/JemZ8O7Hy And the second one was the Gigabyte Gaming Notebook video since I try to find products that beat apple's macbooks - https://www.vessel.com/videos/DkWN4qqW1 Shared on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/karlrobert.reinart/posts/953970924643506 and Twitter: https://twitter.com/Ropskii/status/580379402095239168 And lastly I want to say that this is ONE HELL OF A GIVEAWAY. Thank you Linus for making this happen. And I'll just let you know early, if I should win your personal computer I wouldn't accept it, cause it has too much of a sentimental value to you so I hope we don't reach 100000 posts
  8. Really like that cooler design. It's good to see some companies come out with something completely different.
  9. Thank you Soo much Linus and other for giving us such a high quality content. One of my dreams is to meet you and spend a day at LinusMediaGroup. Just keep doing what you do and the viewers will be happy, at least I am, techquickie is very interesting to me as a tech noob and Channel Super Fun is, as the name says, super fun. Good luck in the future and hope to see lots of interesting content on all of these channels
  10. I really like the skin of this phone. In Sony I generally like their android skin. Samsung skin is really ugly and difficult to understand but sony just makes things simple and handy And as for the dbrand, I like that they agreed to send Linus a review unit so I could see the review I expected for a long time And it is cool of them to give this one away.
  11. How can you be so sure of it that it is the only one. Have you watched all the netlinked dailys and unboxed videos?
  12. This video I found extremely useful, because I just had the same problem when this video came out, and it solved my problem
  13. I know about the sockets and everything but the problem is that I have 620W psu. It might get in the way right? Would I just be better of with one 7990 or 6990 ?
  14. I could get the cpu (60€), two gpus(125x2) and mobo(60€) for around 370 euros, so I guess, it is a good value I just wanted to know if the cpu can handle 2 so powerful cards, so no bottlenecking?
  15. Hi guys, so I finally got some money, about 400 euros to spend on cpu, gpu and mobo. I thought of getting a I7 920 with 2x 7970-s and a decent mobo that allows me to overclock the cpu. I have the other components. Do the question is, do these parts work together well. I just want to play games on minimum settings in 1080p. I'm 17 years old and I still haven't seen 60+ fps in 1080 low. Might this be my chance?
