Neither nVidia or Intel will be able to buy AMD as a whole, nVidia would get a GPU Monopoly, or Intel would get a CPU Monopoly. So although I (kinda) hate Samsung, I hope they pump a lot of money into AMD. However, I don't think AMD fits Samsung well, as Samsung is into mobile CPU's, and AMD is really power-hungry. Samsung might be interested in the APU departement for phones. I saw some rumor about AMD developing an APU, that would have the power of an r9 290x, but with a total TDP of 300w.

I am pretty sure the NVlink will only have a big impact on the quadros and such, just for raw processing power. I don't think casual gaming GPU's will benefit much.

Don't do it, if you want it to be cooler you can better get a bigger rad. The 2 extra fans will make a maximum of 3 degrees difference.

I know, but I am serious about Pascal being superfast if it needs so much bandwith.

Watercooling is more silent than air compaired at high loads, but makes more noise at idle. On $60 you should go for air.

So it seems that pascal is going to be fast as hell? The clockspeed wil be OVER 9000!

thanks for this guide, my dad has a Q6600 and some Core2Duo's laying around, tomorrow I will check what chipset the MoBo's are. if I remember correctly one of them is a P45. I might build a PC for a friend of mine, he wants to get into PC gaming, but not many games are available on his MacBook. I am going to crank up an old case and see what I can make of it. :rolleyes:

One for working/editing and one for gaming I assume? That's AWESOME! :blink: just search on some forums and such for free ATX cases, doesn't matter how old the case is, it will just be for a test.

isn't m-BTX just the same size as m-ATX? just on the other side? not sure though.
